A wish to all women, to be celebrated today as in every day.

On a day like this, in addition to remembering the reasons that gave rise to this day, I think it is useful to take stock of today's female situation, even though only with a sketch.

And there is nothing better than using numbers.
In the past year, it was almost only women who lost their jobs, or had to give it up in order to keep up with the family. Istat data: 2020 produced 101 thousand new unemployed in Italy, of which 99 thousand are women.

Even before the covid the situation in Italy was not going very well, given that female employment represented only 42% of the total employed.

Covid has confronted us, among other things, with gender problems. It showed us how women, ending up working in sectors mainly related to services, or in any case with less prestigious positions, have a less stable and secure job than men (as well as less paid for the same hours, employment and commitment).

In politics things are not much better, in Italy as in the whole world. Out of 193 countries, only 10 of them are ruled by a woman.
In Europe, women represent only 28% of parliamentarians.

And again, out of 84 Italian universities, only 7 are run by women. Yet the 2019 data show us that many more women than men graduate in Italy, in fact they represent 57% of graduates.

In 2020, homicides decreased by 14%, but not those of women, which even increased with the lockdown. Just as violence against women has increased - right inside the house, the place that should give security and not anxiety and terror. Leaving aside comments on these men that I am ashamed of, I wish women to always be able to prevent this kind of situation, moving away when even a suspicion arises, and above all asking for help. There is nothing to be ashamed of in prioritizing your health, mental and physical.

Women are still called more familiarly than men, and the use of the first name rather than the surname is intended to reduce their authority. The use of the article in front of the surname continues to indicate the bad habit of objectifying them.
The newspapers still emphasize how women are first mothers than workers, when no one would ever dream of writing an article titled "Papa Capitan divided between Weapon and family".

We need to be a little careful. Correct yourself when you are wrong. Ask for explanations when you don't understand. Be willing to understand. But above all respect respect respect.
Make way for women.

Un augurio a tutte le donne, da festeggiare oggi come in ogni giorno.

In un giorno come questo, oltre a ricordare le ragioni che hanno dato luogo a questa giornata, ritengo sia utile fare il punto della situazione femminile odierna, sebbene solo con un abbozzo.

E non c'è niente di meglio, per farlo, che utilizzare i numeri.
Nello scorso anno ad aver perso il lavoro, o ad avervi dovuto rinunciare per poter stare dietro alla famiglia, sono state quasi unicamente le donne. Dati istat: il 2020 ha prodotto 101mila nuovi disoccupati, di cui 99mila sono donne.

Anche prima del covid la situazione in in Italia non andava poi molto bene, visto che l'occupazione femminile rappresentava solamente il 42% degli occupati complessivi.

Il covid ci ha posti di fronte, tra le varie cose, anche a problemi di genere. Ci ha mostrato come le donne, finendo per lavorare in settori principalmente legati ai servizi, o comunque con posizioni di minor prestigio, hanno un lavoro meno stabile e sicuro degli uomini (oltre che meno pagato a parità di ore, impiego ed impegno).

In politica le cose non vanno molto meglio, in Italia come in tutto il mondo. Su 193 paesi, solo 10 di essi sono governati da una donna.
In Europa le donne rappresentano solamente il 28% dei parlamentari.

E ancora, su 84 università italiane, solo 7 sono rette da donne. Eppure i dati istat del 2019 ci mostrano che in Italia si laureano molte più donne che uomini, esse rappresentano infatti il 57% dei laureati.

Nel 2020 sono diminuiti gli omicidi del 14%, ma non quelli di donne, che sono addirittura aumentati con il lockdown. Così come sono aumentate le violenze sulle donne - proprio dentro casa, il luogo che dovrebbe dar sicurezze e non ansia e terrore. Tralasciando commenti su questi uomini di cui mi vergogno, auguro alle donne di riuscire sempre a prevenire questo genere di situazioni, allontanandosi quando nasce anche solo un sospetto, e soprattutto chiedendo aiuto. Non c'è nulla di cui doversi vergognare nel dare la priorità alla propria salute, mentale e fisica.

Le donne vengono ancora chiamate in modo più familiare rispetto agli uomini, e l'uso del nome anziché del cognome intende ridurne l'autorevolezza. L'uso dell'articolo di fronte al cognome continua ad indicare il brutto vizio di oggettivarle.
I giornali ancora accentuano come le donne siano prima madri che lavoratrici, quando nessuno si sognerebbe mai di scrivere un articolo titolato "il papà Capitano diviso tra Arma e famiglia".

Occorre fare un po' di attenzione. Correggersi quando si sbaglia. Chiedere spiegazioni quando non si capisce. Essere disposti a comprendere. Ma soprattutto rispettare rispettare rispettare.
