I took two days off but now I'm here, full of energy!
Yesterday, talking about the Marian celebrations that will be held in Reggio in these days, I concluded my comment on "Faccialibro" with these words: "... And then, celebrations and religion, opium for the people dished out by politicians and bishops to keep citizens calm who follow a framework by eating sweets bought at stalls (dirty and that do not respect any hygiene rules and not only), bah!".

Well yes, today I want to talk to you about "Festa Madonna" in Reggio Calabria.
Let's give you some context, this festival lasts from the 10th to the 23rd of this month, generally it falls in the second week of September and goes on for at least 10 days; it celebrates the Madonna della Consolazione, protector of Reggio Calabria.
The painting of the Madonna is kept for 6 months in the church of the Eremo di Condera and for 6 months in the Cathedral of Reggio Calabria; during this festival a first procession is held in which the Painting is moved to the cathedral and, after a few days, a second procession in which the Painting "parades" through the main streets of Reggio Calabria pushed by the incitement of the people of Reggio who shout "Viva Maria!" every 30 seconds!

Let's start by analyzing the traffic, today together with Reny and Samuele we went to Reggio to run some errands, the city is practically blocked, constantly!

The absurd thing is that, in the area of the rides, they have announced a ban on parking and transit for kilometers and kilometers except for authorized vehicles, we are talking about a densely populated area; the authorized vehicles are only those of the police.

Basically, the citizens who have garages in those areas, according to the municipal ordinance, will not be able to take the car to get around since in all the streets around their garages there is a ban on transit!
I am sure that these people will mention the Madonna for several days but I don't think they will do it in their prayers... Thinking about it, I understand their reasons, after all she is the one who is being celebrated, right?
Well this is the speech regarding traffic, to conclude the reasoning about rides... I don't think they respect all the safety regulations and, honestly, I would never let my son go on them, as I never went on them even when I was a boy.
If he wants to go to the rides, we will go to Gardaland, Mirabilandia or Eurodisney but certainly not to an amusement park of obvious mafia nature... and in any case, Samuele's and my dream is to go to Legoland!
The reasoning for the stalls is very similar, street vendors who pay permits to the municipality and the "shadow municipality", some of whom sell food and drinks in precarious hygiene conditions and probably without any license to serve them... But who is in charge anyway?
Another tradition during our festival is that in the evening, all around the cathedral, sandwiches with sausage, potatoes and peppers are sold; You will say, what's wrong with that?
Nothing except that they start cooking them, in addition to the shopkeepers who sell food, even those who sell clothes, shoes, even funeral homes!
All of this of course in defiance of any hygiene rule... HACCP, this unknown!
Basically in Reggio Calabria from the 10th to the 23rd they make sandwiches with sausage dogs and pigs and steps for the dogs... But the pigs also engage in cannibalism!

But there is a but, they organize the Madonna festival and they organize the New Year's concert and then some bullshit for the summer season, the common people for this "consolation" squander everything (they are happy) and forget about the problems... Of course they forget about it until they are personally affected because in no city like Reggio Calabria has the saying that goes: "They are all Gay with other people's asses!" worked well.
I hope no one gets offended, after all the joke is not mine but by a well-known Genoese comedian.
Well I have outlined a bit of the situation in Reggio Calabria when the "Picture" of the Madonna moves, there would be much more to say but for now I'll stop here.

Mi sono preso due giorni di pausa ma ora sono qui, bello carico a pallettoni!
Ieri, parlando delle feste Mariane che si terranno a Reggio in questi giorni, ho concluso un mio commento su "Faccialibro" con queste parole: "... Che poi, feste e religione, oppio per i popoli propinato da politici e vescovi per far stare tranquilli i cittadini che seguono un quadro mangiando caramelle comprate alle bancarelle (sporche e che non rispettano alcuna norma d'igiene e non solo), bah!".
Naturalmente, scrivendo a un amico reggino, mi sono espresso in dialetto; qui ho preferito riportare la traduzione, dehihi!
Ebbene si, oggi voglio parlarti di "Festa Madonna" a Reggio Calabria.
Diamo un po' di contesto, questa festa dura dal 10 al 23 di questo mese, in generale cade nella seconda settimana di settembre e va avanti per almeno 10 giorni; si festeggia la Madonna della Consolazione, protettrice di Reggio Calabria.

Partiamo analizzando la viabilità, oggi insieme a Reny e Samuele siamo andati a Reggio per sbrigare alcune commissioni, la città è praticamente bloccata, costantemente!
Io e la Family abbiamo deciso che resteremo nel nostro borghetto fino al 24 di settembre, il giorno dopo la fine della festa.
La cosa assurda è che, nella zona delle giostre, hanno indetto il divieto di sosta e di transito per chilometri e chilometri eccetto per i mezzi autorizzati, stiamo parlando di una zona densamente popolata; i mezzi autorizzati sono solo quelli delle forze dell'ordine.
Ti rendi conto!
Praticamente i cittadini che hanno in quelle zone i garage, secondo l'ordinanza comunale non potranno prendere la macchina per spostarsi poiché in tutte le strade attorno ai loro box c'è il divieto di transito!
Sono certo che queste persone nomineranno per parecchi giorni la Madonna ma non credo lo faranno nelle loro preghiere... A ben pensare poi capisco le loro ragioni, in fondo la festeggiata è lei, no?
Bene questo il discorso che riguarda la viabilità, per concludere anche il ragionamento giostre... Non credo che rispettino tutte le norme di sicurezza e, onestamente, io mio figlio non ce lo farei salire mai, come mai ci sono salito io anche quando ero ragazzo.
Se vuole andare alle giostre, faremo un giro a Gardaland a Mirabilandia o a Eurodisney ma non sicuramente in un luna park di palese stampo mafioso... e comunque il sogno mio e di Samuele è di andare a Legoland!
Il ragionamento per le bancarelle è molto simile, venditori ambulanti che pagano i permessi al comune e al "comune ombra", alcuni dei quali vendono cibi e bevande in condizione di igiene precario e probabilmente senza alcuna licenza di somministrazione... Ma tanto, chi controlla?
Altra tradizione durante la nostra festa è che la sera, tutto intorno al duomo, si vendono i panini salsiccia patate e peperoni; Tu dirai, è che c'è di male?
Nulla se non fosse che si mettono a cucinarli, oltre ai negozianti che vendono cibo, anche quelli che vendono vestiti, scarpe, addirittura le onoranze funebri!
Il tutto naturalmente in barba a ogni norma igienica... HACCP, questo sconosciuto!
Praticamente a Reggio Calabria dal 10 al 23 fanno panini con la salsiccia cani e porci e passi per i cani... Ma i porci così si danno anche al cannibalismo!
Il discorso dello "stato ombra" ovviamente vale per tutti quelli che guadagnano qualcosa durante la festa, chi vende sicuramente qualcosa a qualcuno dovrà dare.
Ovviamente in questo periodo il comune si vede bene dal fare qualsiasi tipo di controllo, eccetto i controlli per i divieti di transito ai poveracci che sono praticamente sotto sequestro in casa loro.
Ora, da che mondo e mondo le istituzioni dovrebbero offrire servizi ai cittadini e garantirne il benessere al fronte del pagamento di tasse, più o meno salate; nella mia città invece le istituzioni, in mano a quattro politici da strapazzo, garantiscono solo disservizi a fronte delle tasse più alte in Italia.
Però c'è un però, organizzano la festa della Madonna e organizzano il concerto di capodanno e poi qualche cazzate per la stagione estiva, il popolino per questo "contentino" si sciala tutto (è felice) e si dimentica delle magagne... Naturalmente se ne dimentica finché non è personalmente toccato perché ma in nessuna città come Reggio Calabria ha funzionato bene il detto che recita: "Sono tutti Gay con il culo degli altri!".
Spero che non si offenda nessuno, d'altronde la battuta non è mia ma di un noto comico genovese.
Bene ho delineato un po' il quadro della situazione a Reggio Calabria quando il "Quadro" della Madonna si muove, ci sarebbe tanto altro da dire ma per ora mi fermo qui.
