And when you turn the clock back one hour it means that even the summer memories are gone.

Apart from the pleasant fact of being able to sleep an extra hour on the first day when you have to switch from solar time to summer time, thinking that from now on it will get dark faster and faster saddens me a little.

Yet it is since July 2018 that there has been talk of abolishing in Europe after 54 years, the time changes twice a year, but it is not yet possible to make a final decision because not all EU countries agree.

Choosing to keep one of the 2 times would optimize the use of sunlight to achieve savings in energy consumption, but this depends from country to country.

However, the final decision is expected to be made next spring.

E quando si mettono le lancette dell'orologio un'ora indietro significa che sono finiti anche i ricordi dell'estate.

A parte il piacevole fatto di poter dormire un'ora in più il primo giorno in cui si deve passare dall'ora legale all'ora solare, pensare che da adesso in poi farà buio sempre più presto mi rattrista un po'.

Eppure è da luglio 2018 che si parla di abolire in Europa dopo 54 anni, il cambio dell'ora 2 volte l'anno, ma ancora non si riesce a prendere una decisione definitiva perché non tutti i paesi UE sono d'accordo.

La scelta di mantenere uno dei 2 orari ottimizzerebbe l'uso della luce del sole al fine di ottenere un risparmio nel consumo di energia, ma ciò dipende da paese a paese.

Comunque la prossima primavera dovrebbe essere presa la decisione definitiva.

However, my day started late being Sunday and given the change of time, I constantly confused with the times.
Because while mobile phones update the time automatically, all traditional alarm clocks and clocks keep marking the old hour.

Comunque la mia giornata è iniziata tardi essendo domenica e visto il cambio dell'ora, ho fatto continuamente confusione con gli orari.
Perché mentre i cellulari aggiornano l'orario in modo automatico, tutte le sveglie e orologi tradizionali continuano a segnare la vecchia ora.

We ate later than usual because at 1 o'clock it would actually have been 12 a.m., so for us in central and southern Italy already used to eating late, we sat down at 3 p.m..

Fortunately, the confusion concerns only the first day, then from the next all the rhythms will resume normally and the time change will no longer be noticed.

Abbiamo mangiato più tardi del solito perché all'1 in realtà sarebbero state le 12, quindi per noi del centro sud Italia abituati già a mangiare tardi, ci siamo seduti a tavola alle 3.

Per fortuna la confusione riguarda soltanto il primo giorno, poi dal successivo tutti i ritmi riprenderanno normalmente e del cambio dell'ora non si farà più caso.
