Unfortunately, it is a plague that affects every country. In Italy, since January, we have reached 105 victims of women killed at the hands of a man, a partner, a husband. These days in many Italian cities there are many demonstrations to ask our government to do something. But unfortunately it is a cultural factor and it is not enough to increase the punishments.
OMG! Before reading your comment I thought this suffering in only for Asian women but European women also go through such situation I had no idea. Maybe this suffering of women is international and will continue till the end of this earth. Cultural issues also affect women's life here in my country and dowry is one of them.
We women are all equal, even Western women, unfortunately we are considered inferior to men.
Just think that in Europe the difference in pay between men and women is 12.7%.
There is a gap to be bridged but if we don't intervene on education and respect, nothing will ever change.
Who knows better than me, I was born and grow up in a society where domestic violence was common and men torture wives and children. That made me late to take the decision of having a right person as life partner but its not that easy to find as we expect or wish. We need to compromise and sacrifice like we women just born for these!
