In arrivo l'ANTIVIRALE ..anti covid !! / ANTIVIRAL ..against covid on the way!! [ITA/ENG]
Molnupiravir il primo farmaco antivirale orale formulato per combattere il COVID-19, è in fase sperimentale.
Finalmente si sente parlare di farmaci per curare il covid, non è una pillola magica che fa sparire il virus ma permette di ridurre drasticamente i suoi sintomi.
Il Molnupiravir è stato scoperto dai ricercatori della Emory University, e le aziende Merck e Ridgeback Biotherapeutics.
Si tratta di un antivirale differente dai soliti che hanno lo scopo di uccidere o inibire lo sviluppo di virus. Molnupivar mira ad entrare nel materiale genetico del virus per introdurre degli errori per confondere i geni abbattendo la capacità del virus a replicarsi.
Dai dati forniti dai ricercatori, questo farmaco ha ottenuto risultati straordinari: il campione di pazienti curati con Molnupivar sono stati ricoverati in misura estremamente minore rispetto al campione a cui non è stato somministrato il farmaco.
Nel gruppo di controllo di pazienti non vaccinati e con almeno un fattore di rischio di covid grave sono stati registrati 53 ricoveri e 8 morti, contro i 28 ricoveri e zero decessi del gruppo di pazienti sottoposto alla terapia antivirale.
Il farmaco deve essere assunto alla comparsa dei primi sintomi del covid e per almeno cinque giorni due volte nell'arco della giornata e sembra essere efficace addirittura contro le varianti gamma, delta e mu.
Al momento Molnupivar non è supportato da studi esterni all'azienda che ha comunicato i dati della sua ricerca attraverso un comunicato stampa, ma l'azienda Merck è già pronta a richiederne l’autorizzazione all’uso di emergenza negli Stati Uniti per poi riuscire ad ottenere una regolamentazione in tutto il mondo.
Le terapie utilizzate finora per combattere il virus come gli anticorpi monoclonali, il plasma dei guariti o il remdesivir - unico farmaco approvato dalla Food and Drug Administration statunitense - vanno somministrate per via endovenosa in ospedale, mentre con Molnupivar il paziente assume il farmaco direttamente a casa.
Insomma sarebbe un bel salto di qualità, si libererebbero gli ospedali e si potrebbe intervenire tempestivamente sul virus ai primi sintomi e soprattutto si ridurrebbero drasticamente anche i costi.
Nel frattempo ci sono anche altre aziende farmaceutiche come la Pfizer, che stanno sviluppando i propri antivirali, è soltanto questione di tempo ma alla fine potremo trattare il covid come qualsiasi altro virus influenzale e correre in farmacia ad acquistare direttamente il farmaco magari tra quelli da banco di uso più comune.
E' soltanto questione di tempo..

Molnupiravir the first oral antiviral drug formulated to combat COVID-19, is in the experimental stage.
We're finally hearing about drugs to treat covid, it's not a magic pill that makes the virus go away but it does allow you to dramatically reduce its symptoms.
Molnupiravir was discovered by researchers at Emory University, and companies Merck and Ridgeback Biotherapeutics.
It is a different antiviral than the usual ones that aim to kill or inhibit the development of viruses. Molnupivar aims to enter the genetic material of the virus to introduce errors to confuse the genes by lowering the virus' ability to replicate.
From the data provided by the researchers, this drug has achieved extraordinary results: the sample of patients treated with Molnupivar were hospitalized to an extremely lower extent than the sample that was not given the drug.
In the control group of unvaccinated patients with at least one risk factor for severe covid, there were 53 hospitalizations and 8 deaths, compared with 28 hospitalizations and zero deaths in the group of patients receiving antiviral therapy.
The drug should be taken at the onset of the first symptoms of covid and for at least five days twice daily and appears to be effective even against gamma, delta and mu variants.
At the moment Molnupivar is not supported by studies external to the company that has communicated the data of its research through a press release, but the company Merck is ready to apply for emergency use authorization in the United States and then succeed in obtaining worldwide regulation.
The therapies used so far to fight the virus such as monoclonal antibodies, plasma or remdesivir - the only drug approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration - are administered intravenously in the hospital, while with Molnupivar the patient takes the drug directly at home.
In short, it would be a quantum leap, hospitals would be freed up and it would be possible to intervene promptly on the virus at the first symptoms and, above all, costs would be drastically reduced.
In the meantime there are also other pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer, which are developing their own antiviral drugs, it is only a matter of time but in the end we will be able to treat covid like any other flu virus and run to the pharmacy to buy the drug directly, maybe among the most commonly used over-the-counter ones.
It's only a matter of time...

Spero anch'io che funzioni, anche perchè il covid diventerà endemico e dovremmo conviverci, come dici tu sarà uno dei tanti virus influenzali da curare all'occorrenza!
Sono convinta che una volta vaccinato tutto il mondo ricco usciranno fuori tanti antivirus da acquistare in farmacia!
Molti virologi seri dicono che il covid è già endemico.
Adesso tocca anche a noi prenderci cura del nostro sistema immunitario aiutandoci con un'alimentazione sana e qualche integratore naturale per superare il periodo invernale, non dimentichiamoci che ci sono anche i soliti virus oltre al covid, chiaramente sempre seguendo le cautele necessarie come mascherina e igiene mani.. ;-)

L'entusiasmo per un farmaco del genere è molto elevato, tuttavia ci sono ancora punti non chiari. Ci tengo a sottolineare che non sono un complottista ahahah :D
Purtroppo l'atteggiamento di tutti i governi durante la pandemia e soprattutto la gestione e il giro di soldi legati non solo ai vaccini ma a qualsiasi cosa inerente il virus come le mascherine o il gel igienizzante, ha portato molti ad essere scettici se non addirittura complottisti.
Chiaramente dietro questo farmaco 'miracoloso' c'è un enorme interesse economico e sarà una guerra tra chi lo immetterà per primo sul mercato e come sempre una volta finito l'entusiasmo e magari scoperta la sua inutilità ogni paese si ritroverà una scorta interminabile di Molnupiravir e non saprà come smaltirlo.. paesi del terzo mondo? chissà.. la storia si ripete sempre.
Comunque a noi non resta che rimanere in balia di questi sciacalli che fanno da sempre i soldi sulla nostra pelle, però mi piace l'idea che ci possa essere un'alternativa al vaccino.. ;-)
Sono d'accordo su tutto quello che hai detto. Credo inoltre che ci debba (non "possa") essere un'alternativa al vaccino, del resto molte delle cure recentemente approvate risultano piuttosto efficaci.
Quest'ultima pillola aggiunge ancora altra speranza e, se sarà davvero efficace, si dimostrerà sicuramente una cura alternativa validissima!
Questa sembra una guerra, il virus sta vincendo, gli scienziati sono in trincea, non mi farò vaccinare, tanto meno prenderò la pillola, penso che se non mi sono ancora ammalato continuerò con la protocollo che porto, e lontano, lontano da altre persone
Sicuramente mascherina, distanza sociale e igiene delle mani aiuta tantissimo. Però il virus non sta vincendo, stiamo imparando a gestirlo e tra un po' riusciremo a fare i nostri anticorpi naturali contro il covid. Piano piano.. ;-)
@mikitaly hai ragione sicuramente come dici tu igiene delle mani ,distanza sociale aiutano tanto ma il vaccino fa anche il suo corso almeno dicono .. comunque spero che sarai più tranquilla da quando sei vaccinata.. io credo che le ansie un po diminuiscono..
It seems good to me that they are developing drugs to combat covid-19, they are administering it to public use in a very short time, normally new drugs are created, tested and regulated in a period of 10 years , in which they have to go through various stages: exploration stage, preclinical stage, IND request, then come phases I.II.III and up to IV, subsequent surveillance once the official authorization is issued. and finally, come the VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Events Information System) which follow up to detect, monitor, identify and evaluate any adverse event that occurs. How is it possible that these people are doing this and administering it to people in such a short time?
Unfortunately, it is everyone's doubt about the timeline for creating vaccines and treatments.
Perhaps it is a question of funding, so since there is a lot of money at stake perhaps you can find the solution sooner, but the fact remains that they should be tested for a standard period that is not taken into account in this case. Only history will tell if we did right or wrong.. ;-)
Hi i prefer 1000 times take a pill before put myself a vaccine but in my case a prefer take care of myself and try to be healthy and taking somethings of nature i mean in my country colombia we dreank something that can enhance my defenses and the product is calling moringa

I have been using natural products to boost my immune system in addition to a healthy diet for over 15 years. I am familiar with moringa and have even used it, it is super potent. However in herbal medicine there are so many solutions, echinacea, propolis, acerola etc. all from nature.. ;-)
