A job that needed to be completed...

Today's morning was rather heavy, this afternoon I'm taking it more calmly, after having made some efforts, tough ones, like the one you see in the images that I attach to this report of mine today, relating to the new vegetable garden of our house, on the plot of land that was kindly granted to us by our landlord...

It was a bit of a mess, the creation and above all the work of tilling this plot of land, which is almost 40 square metres, as my partner's son, the main creator of this new idea, had already asked for a month makes a piece of land to our landlord, who replied that he had to think about it, because perhaps he had to put down this, or that, in short, we had not understood anything about what would happen to this new phantom garden, when by now hope was lost, also considering the fact that it was he who would have told us to do it (because it was almost a given that the land wasn't there for us), he came out with a sentence like...

"If you want a piece of land, see if it suits you, there is nothing better..."

Well?!?! It wasn't good, but very good, because it was about the size that my partner's son had in mind, so we had to start with the works, which in the initial phase essentially consisted of the work of tilling the land, which in these cases are carried out with a motor hoe or, if we don't have one, with the work of our own arms, using the tool that is commonly known as a spade...

What effort, what work, this morning we finished digging the last bit of land, which unfortunately was infested with a plant called gramigna, it's like the plague, you can't completely eradicate it, because it puts down so many roots that until a person digs the earth he has no idea, what you see in the 2nd image is precisely related to everything we have removed from the cultivation soil, all the pieces of couch grass roots that we have literally uprooted from the ground of our future vegetable garden, we wanted to finish this operation because tomorrow rain is forecast in our area, so having the soil tilled and enjoying the precipitation of water is always a positive thing, but what an effort to finish the job this morning!!!

Mattinata piuttosto pesante, quella odierna, oggi pomeriggio me la prendo con più calma, dopo aver fatto qualche fatica, di quelle toste, come quella che vedete nelle immagini che allego a questo mio resoconto odierno, relative al nuovo orto di casa nostra, sull'appezzamento di terreno che ci è stato gentilmente concesso dal nostro padrone di casa...

E' stato un mezzo casino, la realizzazione e soprattutto l'opera di dissodamento di questo appezzamento di terreno, che sfiora i 40 metri quadri, in quanto il figlio della mia compagna, il principale ideatore di questa nuova trovata, aveva chiesto ormai un mesetto fa un pezzo di terreno al nostro padrone di casa, che gli rispose che ci doveva pensare, perché forse doveva mettere giù questo, oppure quello, insomma non si era capito nulla di che fine dovesse fare questo nuovo fantomatico orto, quando ormai si erano perse le speranze, considerando anche il fatto che era lui che ci avrebbe detto di farlo (perché era quasi scontato che la terra per noi non c'era), se ne esce fuori con una frase del tipo...

"Se vuoi un pezzo di terra, guarda quello se ti può andare bene, di meglio non ce n'è..."

Bene?!?! Non andava bene, ma benissimo, perché era circa l'estensione che aveva in mente il figlio della mia compagna, per cui si doveva partire con i lavori, che nella fase iniziale erano costituiti essenzialmente dall'opera di dissodamento del terreno, che in questi casi si esegue con una motozappatrice oppure, per cui come noi ne fosse sprovvisto, con l'opera delle proprie braccia, tramite l'attrezzo che comunemente è conosciuto con il nome di vanga...

Che fatica, che lavorata, questa mattina abbiamo terminato di vangare l'ultimo pezzettino di terreno, che purtroppo era infestato da una pianta che si chiama gramigna, è come la peste, non la si riesce a debellare completare, perché mette tante di quelle radici che una persona finché non vanga la terra non ne ha un'idea, quello che vedete nella 2° immagine è appunto relativo a tutto quello che abbiamo tirato via dal terreno di coltivazione, tutti i pezzi di radici di gramigna che abbiamo letteralmente estirpato dal terreno del nostro futuro orto, si voleva terminare questa operazione perché domani è prevista pioggia dalle nostre parti, per cui avere il terreno dissodato, che si gode la precipitazione d'acqua, è sempre un fatto positivo, ma che fatica terminare il lavoro questa mattina!!!
