Extraordinary Bomarzo - my entry to UNFORGETTABLE ITALY contest: Week 12

in Italy3 years ago

Ciao, lovers of Italy!

Here is today a photo and a memory I decided to share with you, a moment from one of our photographic travels to beautiful Italy. This happened about three years ago on a trip where we decided to rediscover the Eastern part of Italy but as it was a dream of my girlfriend to visit the extraordinary park near Bomarzo, we decided to arrive in Italy by plane, landing at Milano, we got our rental car from there and after those great days we departed from Roma as the site at Bomarzo was on our way to Roma and visited it on the day prior departing. So it was "the cherry on top of the cake", sortof speak :) I had not heard about this amazing place before and I have to say, after visiting it, this is a must see if you have the chance to be at that part of the country. And if not, you better plan for it, as it is totally worth it! I guarantee you will be enchanted by the stone monsters, the tilted buildings and the beauty of the gardens in general. The mind behind all this is definitely a mastermind! :)

I am not going to give more info as there is plenty of it online, so if you want to find out more, check the Sacro Bosco wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gardens_of_Bomarzo or just search for it online for yourself.

Moreover, there are plenty of things to see and taste in the beautiful small old town of Bomarzo itself. There is a museum with amazing views upon the town. It felt great to me to just walk and browse the narrow pedestrian streets and enjoy the good spring weather.

As this was the wish of my girlfriend, I was obligated to take few pictures of her along the stone monsters, of course! So for my entry to the contest of @girolamomarotta and @italygame , "UNFORGETTABLE ITALY contest: Week 12", I decided to show this one below. I have to admit that our photo-travel was not short and I already forgot the names of the most of the towns and villages we visited but I am sure I will never forget Bomarzo as it really impressed me deeply and was an amazing surprise to me!
