nel secondo giorno delle giornate Fai di primavera, abbiamo deciso dopo una giornata molto impegnativa trascorsa a Venezia, della quale ve ne ho parlato nei precedenti post, abbiamo deciso di andare a vedere altri tre posti che erano eccezionalmente aperti nella giornata di domenica nella città di Vicenza, ed erano legati ad una figura molto importante per Vicenza, un importante mecenate che è il marchese Roi.

Il primo luogo che abbiamo visitato è stato Palazzo Roi che si trova incontra San Marco, quindi siamo leggermente fuori dal centro storico di Vicenza, come vi dicevo questo palazzo era la casa praticamente di questo Marchese, che è stato uno dei promotori per far diventare Vicenza patrimonio dell'Unesco e anche sì è molto attivato per far conoscere all'estero le ville palladiane, quindi lui aveva lasciato una specie di fondazione, e la sede di questa fondazione era all'interno di questo palazzo.

Quindi in questa giornata abbiamo potuto visitare alcune stanze, perché altre sono state date in affitto a un bed and breakfast, proprio perché la fondazione negli ultimi anni ha avuto problemi economici rilevanti per il crack della Banca Popolare di Vicenza, Quindi ha dovuto mettere molti dei loro spazi a rendita.

In questa casa praticamente hanno vissuto il primo Giuseppe Roi che praticamente era il nonno, che per un periodo è stato anche deputato al Parlamento italiano, ma soprattutto aveva sposato Teresa Fogazzaro figlia dello scrittore famoso Antonio Fogazzaro.

È stato interessante visitare questo palazzo, perché erano ancora custoditi gli arredi dell'epoca, ed era un po' come ritornare indietro nel tempo, soprattutto sono rimasto molto colpito dalle tante fotografie conservate in queste stanze del marchese, praticamente aveva rapporti con persone molto influenti dell'epoca, infatti in diverse foto era fotografato anche con i reali d'Inghilterra, ma anche gli Agnelli e altre persone influenti dell'epoca.

Il marchese era un collezionista Cioè partecipava a molti mercatini dell'antiquariato, anche se diverse opere che sono esposte all'interno delle stanze del suo palazzo, sono copie degli originali, prese probabilmente da qualche rigattiere.

Nei prossimi post vedremo altri due luoghi, sempre aperti durante le giornate di primavera del Fai, quindi Seguitemi nei prossimi post perché mi porterò in due luoghi molto interessanti di Vicenza, e che molto spesso sono chiusi al pubblico.

On the second day of the Spring FAI Days, after a very busy day spent in Venice, about which I've talked in previous posts, we decided to go and see three other places that were exceptionally open on Sunday in the city of Vicenza. These places were linked to a very important figure for Vicenza, a significant patron who is the Marquess Roi.

The first place we visited was Palazzo Roi, which is located near San Marco, so we are slightly outside the historic center of Vicenza. As I mentioned earlier, this palace was practically the home of this Marquess, who was one of the promoters to have Vicenza recognized as a UNESCO heritage site and also worked actively to promote the Palladian villas abroad. He had left a kind of foundation, and the headquarters of this foundation was inside this palace.

So on this day, we were able to visit some rooms because others had been rented out to a bed and breakfast, precisely because the foundation in recent years has had significant economic problems due to the collapse of the Banca Popolare di Vicenza. Therefore, they had to rent out many of their spaces.

In this house, practically the first Giuseppe Roi lived, who was practically the grandfather, who for a period was also a deputy in the Italian Parliament, but above all had married Teresa Fogazzaro, daughter of the famous writer Antonio Fogazzaro.

It was interesting to visit this palace because the furnishings of the time were still preserved, and it was a bit like going back in time. I was especially struck by the many photographs preserved in these rooms of the marquess. He had relationships with very influential people of the time; in fact, in several photos, he was also photographed with the English royals, as well as the Agnelli family and other influential people of the time.

The marquess was a collector; that is, he participated in many antique markets. Although several works displayed within the rooms of his palace are copies of the originals, probably taken from some flea market.
