1000 DAYS OF STEEM - The Diary Game - 10/09/2020: Toxic fires - Roghi tossici [ENG-ITA]

Today I witnessed yet another tragedy that has afflicted my region for years, even decades.

Two fires of considerable magnitude have developed near to Giugliano in Campania, a city located in the Neapolitan hinterland, north of the capital.

Unfortunately for me, I found myself over there for work and so I witnessed this terrible havoc you see in the photos.

Unfortunately, once again we have to deal with fires involving toxic materials, plastics and waste.

Too many times I have seen that black smoke rising into the sky, which remains suspended for hours and which releases toxins and above all the very dangerous and feared dioxin.

Is this the infamous fate of those who live in the so-called Land of Fires?

To die intoxicated by the poison that criminals have brought and bring into our homes and politicians pretend not to see?

I don’t accept it and I will fight so that my land become a place where my children can grow up healthy and the right to life and health are protected.

Deadwood is difficult to pull out, but we have to try.

Because it is difficult, but not impossible.

Oggi ho assistito all’ennesima tragedia che da anni, anzi decenni, affligge la mia regione.

Due incendi di notevole entità si sono sviluppati nella zona di Giugliano in Campania, città situata nell’hinterland napoletano, a nord del capoluogo.

Per mia sfortuna, mi sono trovato da quelle parti per lavoro e così ho assistito a questo scempio terribile che vedete nelle foto.

Purtroppo ancora una volta dobbiamo fare i conti con incendi di materiale tossico, plastica e rifiuti.
Troppe volte mi è capitato di vedere quel fumo nero che sale nel cielo, che rimane sospeso per ore e che sprigiona tossine e soprattutto la pericolosissima e temutissima diossina.

È questo il destino infame di chi vive nella cosiddetta Terra dei fuochi?
Quello di morire intossicati dal veleno che i criminali hanno portato e portano dentro le nostre case e i politici fanno finta di non vedere?

Io non ci sto e combatterò perché la mia terra sia un posto nel quale i miei figli possano crescere sani e il diritto alla vita e alla salute siamo tutelati.

È difficile estirpare i rami secchi, ma dobbiamo provarci.

Perché è difficile, ma non impossibile.
