EDITORIALE

Prima di organizzare questo contest, basato sulla durata delle dieci settimane, ho dovuto per forza di cose studiare un po' i calendari degli avvenimenti calcistici, in modo da accertarmi innanzitutto che la parte restante della stagione coprisse l'intera durata del concorso, ed in secondo luogo che le rimanenti gare non fossero collocate in date e orari incompatibili con la partecipazione.

In quel momento mi sono accorto che già alla seconda puntata il programma avrebbe dovuto subire una piccola variazione, a causa degli impegni delle nazionali. Trovare sei partite da inserire all'interno del nostro gioco, che non fossero troppo scontate o collocate in date non idonee non è stato facilissimo, ma alla fine anche questo scoglio è stato superato e ci siamo potuti godere un'altra divertente settimana che ha fatto registrare record di partecipazione e di punteggio.

Il terzo episodio, che verrà pubblicato domani, tornerà ad avere di nuovo la Serie A come protagonista, ma per quello successivo è probabile che a causa degli anticipi pasquali dovremo di nuovo chiedere l'aiuto di qualche campionato "esterno". Potrebbe sembrare una difficoltà, ma invece la considero una fortuna, perché in fondo è proprio qui il bello della ITALYGAME CUP^TM, un torneo nato da una community italiana ma destinato agli amici di tutto il mondo.

Alla seconda settimana del torneo hanno partecipato 20 utenti, stabilendo cosi il nuovo record. E' una notizia fantastica, in quanto più partecipazioni rendono vibrante la lotta per la conquista delle posizioni utili a qualificarsi ai play-off e al Trofeo secondario. Grazie di cuore a tutti voi e vi raccomando, continuate a coinvolgere più amici possibile in quanto più siamo, più ci divertiamo!

Sono un po' dispiaciuto e sorpreso di non aver più visto gli amici della Nigeria, che avevano dominato la prima puntata del concorso sia nella classifica generale che in quella per nazioni, ma una delle caratteristiche di questo gioco è che non esistono vincoli di partecipazione a tutte le puntate (anche se farlo regala dei vantaggi), quindi per loro le porte rimarranno ovviamente aperte, così come per tutti coloro che ancora non hanno partecipato o che hanno saltato uno degli episodi.

I 20 concorrenti della seconda settimana sono così suddivisi:

Questa puntata del concorso è stata così vinta dalla "squadra" italiana, seguita dal Bangladesh e dal Sudafrica (a parità di media punti viene premiato il numero di partecipanti), mentre la zona medaglie è stata solo sfiorata dagli amici di Venezuela e India, che hanno comunque effettuato ugualmente delle ottime performances.

La vittoria del Marocco sul Brasile è stato il risultato più sorprendente della settimana: nessun utente è riuscito ad indovinare il pronostico in maniera corretta (Marocco +1) e la partita ha distribuito soltanto due punti.

Il match il cui esito è stato indovinato il maggior numero di volte è Inghilterra-Ucraina (addirittura 11), e la sfida tra le due nazionali è anche quella che ha distribuito il maggior numero di punti complessivi (40). Una curiosità infine sulla partita Malta-Italia: tutti i concorrenti sono stati capaci di realizzare almeno un punto in questo pronostico, ma "solo" nove lo hanno indovinato correttamente.

Perché viene premiata la velocità?
Quando si tratta di pronostici sportivi, le possibilità di indovinare i risultati delle partite aumentano con l'avvicinarsi del fischio d'inizio. Before organising this contest, which was based on the ten-week duration, I had to do a little research into the calendars of football events, in order to make sure firstly that the remaining part of the season covered the entire duration of the contest, and secondly that the remaining competitions were not placed at dates and times incompatible with participation.

At that moment I realised that already by the second episode the programme would have to undergo a slight change, due to the commitments of the national teams. Finding six matches to include in our game that were not too predictable or placed on unsuitable dates was not easy, but in the end even this hurdle was overcome and we were able to enjoy another fun week that set participation and scoring records.

The third episode, which will be published tomorrow, will again have the Serie A as the protagonist, but for the next one it is likely that due to the Easter previews we will again have to ask for the help of some 'external' leagues. It might seem like a hardship, but instead I consider it a blessing, because after all that's the beauty of the ITALYGAME CUP^TM, a tournament born from an Italian community but intended for friends all over the world.

WEEK #2 CONTESTANTS

In the second week of the tournament, 20 users participated, setting a new record. This is fantastic news, as more participations make the fight for positions to qualify for the play-offs and the secondary trophy more vibrant. Thank you all very much and I recommend that you continue to involve as many friends as possible as the more of us there are, the more fun we have!

I'm a bit surprised not to have seen more of our friends from Nigeria, who had dominated the first episode of the competition both in the overall and country rankings, but one of the characteristics of this game is that there are no constraints to participate in all the episodes (although doing so obviously gives advantages), so for them the doors will obviously remain open as well as for all those who have not yet participated or who have missed one of the episodes.

The 20 contestants of the second week are divided as follows:

Morocco's victory over Brazil was the most surprising result of the week: no user managed to guess the prediction correctly (Morocco +1) and the match only distributed two points.
