Ciao a tutti gli amici viaggiatori di Steemit,

Da oggi voglio cominciare una piccola rubrica settimanale dedicata ai miei viaggi/escursioni e già che ci sono partecipare al contest "UNFORGETTABLE TRIP".

Parlando di viaggi indimenticabili non posso che partire dal raccontarvi di uno dei miei primi viaggi "On The Road": La Spagna.
Perchè proprio questo viaggio? Forse perchè è stata l'esperienza che mi ha fatto rivalutare il concetto di distanza.
Percorrendo molti Km ogni giorno la percezione di distanza inevitabilmente si riduce e se prima andare da Milano in romagna mi sembrava un viaggio, dopo questa esperienza la stessa destinazione ha assunto la dimensione di una piccola tappa.

Introduzione al Viaggio

Era l'estate del 2004 quando insieme al mio migliore amico abbiamo deciso di comprare una tenda e 2 guide Lonely Planet per partire per 3 settimane in auto direzione Spagna.
L'auto era la mia Renault Clio nuova di zecca ritirata in concessionaria solo 2 settimane prima: "lei" non lo sapeva ma le aspettava un rodaggio speciale.
A quel tempo i navigatori erano pochi (TomTom e Garmin) e costosi , quindi ci siamo affidati ad un atlante stradale europeo che ad oggi conservo ancora come un cimelio.

Si Parte

Arriva il giorno, o meglio dire la sera della partenza (abbiamo deciso di viaggiare di notte per evitare inutili code in autostrada). Spagna... ARRIVIAMO!!
No aspettate, prima abbiamo deciso di fare una piccola deviazione per visitare lo stato di Andorra, una tappa che altrimenti mai più nella vita avremmo fatto.

La strada scorre veloce, le playlist di mp3 ci fanno cantare e la spensieratezza dei nostri 25 anni non ci fa sentire la stanchezza.
Fino a quando percorriamo le arterie principali la strada è abbastanza monotona, non posso però dimenticare gli innumerevoli pedaggi lungo le autostrade francesi, non si faceva a tempo a chiudere il portamonete che all'orizzonte se ne scorgeva già un altro... e allora via, a contare nuovamente le monetine da gettare nel cestello del Péage.
Finalmente decidiamo di lasciare l'autostrada per prendere delle strade secondarie e finalmente il panorama cambia.

Siamo ancora in terra francese ma cominciamo a salire verso i Pirenei e dopo parecchie curve e tornanti raggiungiamo la dogana di Andorra... prima tappa raggiunta!!!

Lo Stato di Andorra e la sua Capitale - Andorra La Vella

Andorra è uno stato situato nella catena montuosa dei Pirenei tra la Francia e la Spagna. Con la sua superficie di ca. 468 km2 é uno dei paesi più piccoli d'Europa . Ha una popolazione di 77.000 abitanti e la sua economia è basata principalmente sul turismo ed il settore bancario.
La sua capitale, Andorra La Vella, è situata nella parte sud-ovest del paese ed oltre ad ospitare la sede del governo e delle istituzioni, funge da polo finanziario e commerciale.

Visitiamo Andorra La Vella

Una volta oltrepassata la dogana, ci dirigiamo verso la capitale del piccolo stato di Andorra alla ricerca di un campeggio limitrofo alla città, abitudine che adotteremo per tutto il viaggio, in modo da piazzare la nostra tenda.

Sistemata la tenda non ci resta altro che uscire da camping per fare due passi in città alla ricerca di qualcosa da mangiare per poi, con la pancia piena, fare un breve tour del centro storico per vedere cosa può offrirci.

In realtà non c'è molto da vedere (non che avessimo grandi aspettative), quindi scattiamo qualche foto qua e la e torniamo verso il camping per un meritato riposo e per prepararci a continuare il viaggio il giorno successivo. Per fortuna assieme alla tenda abbiamo comprato un bel materassone matrimoniale gonfiabile che renderà i nostri sonni davvero ristoratori.

Finisce qui la nostra prima tappa e possiamo cominciare a piazzare la prima bandierina virtuale sulla mappa di questo nostro viaggio.

Starting from today, I want to begin a small weekly column dedicated to my travels/excursions and since I'm at it, participate in the "UNFORGETTABLE TRIP" contest.

Speaking of unforgettable trips, I can't help but start by telling you about one of my first "On The Road" journeys: Spain.Why this particular trip? Perhaps because it was the experience that made me reevaluate the concept of distance.
Covering many kilometers each day inevitably reduces the perception of distance, and if previously a trip from Milan to Romagna seemed long, after this experience, the same destination became just a small stop along the way.

Introduction to the Journey

It was the summer of 2004 when my best friend and I decided to buy a tent and two Lonely Planet guides and set off for a 3-week road trip to Spain. The car was my brand new Renault Clio, picked up from the dealership just 2 weeks prior. "She" didn't know it yet, but a special break-in awaited her. At that time, navigators were few (TomTom and Garmin) and expensive, so we relied on a European road atlas, which I still keep as a relic today.

Let's Begin

The day arrives, or rather, the evening of departure (we decided to travel at night to avoid unnecessary traffic jams on the highways). Spain... HERE WE COME!!
Wait, before that, we decided to make a small detour to visit the country of Andorra, a stop that we would never have made otherwise in our lives.

The road flows quickly, our MP3 playlists make us sing, and the carefree nature of our 25 years old selves keeps us from feeling tired.
As long as we travel on the main highways, the road is quite monotonous, but I can't forget the countless toll booths along the French highways. It felt like as soon as we closed the coin purse, another toll booth appeared on the horizon... and so, we counted the coins again to throw into the toll basket.
Finally, we decide to leave the highway and take secondary roads, and finally, the scenery changes.

We are still in French territory, but we start climbing towards the Pyrenees, and after several curves and hairpin bends, we reach the Andorran border... first stop achieved!!!

The State of Andorra and Its Capital - Andorra La Vella

Andorra is a state located in the Pyrenees mountain range between France and Spain. With its surface area of approximately 468 km², it is one of the smallest countries in Europe. It has a population of 77,000 inhabitants, and its economy is mainly based on tourism and the banking sector.Its capital, Andorra La Vella, is located in the southwestern part of the country and, in addition to hosting the seat of government and institutions, serves as a commercial, financial, and cultural hub.

Exploring Andorra La Vella

Once we crossed the border, we head towards the capital of the small state of Andorra in search of a campsite near the city, a habit we will adopt throughout the trip, in order to pitch our tent.

After setting up the tent, all that's left is to leave the campsite and take a stroll in the city in search of something to eat. Then, with our bellies full, we take a short tour of the historic center to see what it has to offer.

In reality, there isn't much to see (not that we had high expectations), so we take a few pictures here and there and return to the campsite for a well-deserved rest and to prepare ourselves for continuing the journey the next day. Luckily, along with the tent, we bought a nice inflatable double mattress that will make our sleep truly rejuvenating.

This concludes our first stop, and we can place our first virtual flag on the map of our journey.
