Dear steemains, i welcome all of you to a world famous tourist destination situated in my country and that too in my hometown , by the name of "Gulmarg ".

Our country in itself is a famous tourist destination . The place that i selected for you to visit is the one that i like the most.

One of the kings who ruled our country in 17th century said following lines about my valley

How to reach Gulmarg?

For my dear Steemians, living outside my country, open your smartphone and book 2 airtickets. Ine is from your city to capital city of india -Delhi (DEL) . Second ticket from delhi to srinagar (SXR) . Isn't simple so for. Next is to pack your luggage which should include, all tracking accessories in addition pick up warm clothes with yourself as weather often remains cold here.

When you reach delhi (capital of india) , you will be landing at terminal number three . You will have to depart for Srinagar from the same terminal. You need not change any terminal. On reaching srinagar, head straight to exit but don't forget to pick up your luggage. At exit, with Airport premesis book a cab to your destination site. You need wonder anywhere. The cab will drop you at your destination. At airport's, you will get food of every country. No need to bother about it.

What is Gulmarg famous for?

For me it does not matter, whether it has world recognition or not. I like it and that it Just to emphasize it's importance, I would mention few points

World's highest golf coarse is situated here at an altitude of about 9000 feet.
Seventh best skiing destination in Asia .
Cable car by name of GANDOLA ferrying upto altitude of 4000 metre is one of the highest cable cars in the world .
Shooting destination for many Bollywood
movies.
Heartland of winter sports in my country.

Which season is best to visit?

Usually most of the tourist places bloom during summers and fade in autumn and die in winters and begin conceiving to life during spring. But GULMARG is immune to such generalizations. Let me show you, why i like it during winters.

Winter in gulmurg witness heavy snowfall making it heartland of winter sports in my country. Not only skiing but also tobogganing and snowboarding add to its flavour in winter too.

Summer witness heavy tourist inflow to this place so much so that few societies fear degradation of climate and demand regulations for effective tourist inflow management. And here is when i visited

Cable car is locally known as GANDOLA, it ascends to an altitude of about 12000 feet and than we land here

Further moving about 2 kms from this place is a frozen lake - remains frozen from November to june.

With the exception of winters, horse riding leaves no stone unturned to add to adventure of the place otherwise.

Where to stay at hill station?

When i say it is the best place, it should not be only best for me but it should be best for you too. As far food and accomodation is concerned, this place is no ways behind any place in world. You can avail government provided beauriful huts with inbuilt mess to provide food and accommodate at cheaper rates . Otherwise, you can opt to stay in praviate hotels and restaurants at different budgets where you will get every varsity of food from almost all the countries.

How much will it cost?

Accommodation in government huts will cost about 15 US dollars per night per room and in praviate set up may cost about 20 - 30 US dollars per night per room with every facility. Rest of the expenditure will depend upon the modalities of entertainment you avail. Overall, surveys have shown that tourists find INDIA as cheapest tourist destination in the World.
