Una vecchiaia decorosa 🇮🇹🇬🇧

Con l'attuale crisi economica che attanaglia l'isola il problema delle pensioni inadeguate e' salito prepotentemente e drammaticamente alla ribalta.
Chiariamo un concetto, anche da noi ci sono pensioni che non consentono di vivere, con la minima o la sociale la sopravvivenza e' complicatissima, pero' con una normale pensione si puo' vivere decorosamente, senza darsi alla pazza gioia ma si campa.

A Cuba il nonno della mia famiglia di riferimento, ha lavorato una vita come camionista, prende 1500 pesos, non ci comperi neanche 2 bottiglie d'olio.
Chi ha una famiglia che puo' aiutare riesce a sopravvivere altrimenti i problemi sono enormi.

A marzo ero in un locale all'aperto a Tunas a bere qualcosa con un amico cubano, passa un vecchietto chiedendo l'elemosina, faccio il mio dovere poi l'amico mi racconta che il tipo era stato uno dei migliori meccanici della citta', lavorando per lo stato.
Ora chiedeva l'elemosina.

Se le pensioni sono di questo livello lo stato deve coprire cio' che manca, non basta la libreta che andrebbe tolta a chi ha una renta, una attivita' importante o un reddito esterno e moltiplicata di valore nei confronti proprio degli anziani che sono la parte piu' debole della popolazione.

A Las Tunas ma soprattutto nella capitale ho visto troppi anziani chiedere l'elemosina, vivere di espedienti, dormire in strada.
Lo so che non e' un fenomeno soltanto cubano ma sull'isola queste cose 10 anni fa non si vedevano, lo stato, poco o tanto, riusciva a occuparsi di tutti.

La vecchiaia, ovunque, andrebbe vissuta con dignita' ed un minimo di decenza, tocca allo stato occuparsi dei suoi figli piu' anziani, quelli che hanno lavorato tutta la vita proprio per lui.

A DECOROUS OLD AGE

With the current economic crisis gripping the island, the problem of inadequate pensions has risen forcefully and dramatically to the forefront.
Let's clarify a concept, even here there are pensions that do not allow you to live, with the minimum or social security survival is very complicated, but with a normal pension you can live decently, without going crazy but you can live.

In Cuba the abuelo of my reference family, has worked all his life as a rastrero, earns 1500 pesos, you can't even buy 2 bottles of oil.
Those who have a family that can help manage to survive otherwise the problems are enormous.

In March I was in an outdoor bar in Tunas having a drink with a Cuban friend, an old man passes by asking for alms, I do my duty then the friend tells me that the guy had been one of the best mechanics in the city, working for the state.
Now he was begging.

If pensions are at this level the state must cover what is missing, the libreta is not enough, it should be taken away from those who have a rent, an important activity or an external income and multiplied in value towards the elderly who are the weakest part of the population.

In Las Tunas but especially in the capital I have seen too many elderly people begging, living by their wits, sleeping on the streets.
I know that it is not a phenomenon only in Cuba but on the island these things were not seen 10 years ago, the state, more or less, managed to take care of everyone.

Old age, everywhere, should be lived with dignity and a minimum of decency, it is up to the state to take care of its oldest children, those who have worked all their lives just for it.
