Cuba ha chiuso il 2023 con 2.4 milioni di turisti, turisti veri, non cubani che tornano a far festa.
L'obiettivo per il 2024, secondo il ministro del turismo Carlos Garcia Granda e' di superare i 3 milioni, ricordo che prima della pandemia oltre 4 milioni di turisti visitarono la maggiore delle Antille.
Il vostro umile scriba ha vissuto in prima persona il crollo del turismo dovuto appunto al maledetto virus.
Nel 2021, in piena pandemia, ero uno dei pochissimi stranieri nell'isola

Forse per questa ragione, questa crescita programmata (sperata...) che Cuba continua a costruire mega hotel il cui riempimento al momento resta un puro esercizio utopico.
E' vero che si tratta di compagnie miste, e' vero che il grano sicuramente arriva dall'exterior, e' vero che prima o poi il turismo tornera' ad esplodere ma al momento quegli hotel mi sembrano
cattedrali nel deserto.
E' indubbio che la risalita del numero di turisti sia piu' lenta rispetto a quanto il governo sperava, siamo al di sotto percentualmente di altri paesi del Caribe.

Le ragioni d questa crescita rallentata sono diverse, intanto c'e' sempre il problema degli Stati Uniti.
Se un turista visita Cuba non puo' ottenere il programma di estensione conosciuto come Esta, questa faccenda ha creato comunque parecchi danni.
Per far fronte a questo problema il governo ha aperto ad altri mercati come quello russo (guerra permettendo), turco, cinese, i paesi del golfo e quelli latino americani.
Aggiungerei anche la possibilita' data finalmente anche agli europei di poter soggiornare 6 mesi sull'isola senza dover uscire.

Il ministro ha anche sottolineato come dal punto di vista dei voli aerei siamo ancora al di sotto del traffico verso l'isola che si
effettuava nel biennio 2018/19.
Gli aerei per volare devono essere pieni...
Un altro punto che ha sottolineato il ministro e' la difesa del medio ambiente che Cuba sta' mettendo in atto, sia sul territorio che in ambiente marino e questo all'isola va riconosciuto.
Dette tutte queste cose sono dell'idea che ogni provincia dovrebbe iniziare a lavorare per avere un turismo proprio, quello che e' successo a Las Tunas e' emblematico.

Per anni la citta' e' stata un punto di attrazione di un certo tipo di
turismo...inutile ricordare quale.
Ora non voglio dire che la citta' debba puntare esclusivamente su quel tipo di turismo ma spegnere tutte le luci alle 20 di sera, mandare ispettori a raffica nelle case de renta, penalizzare i proprietari delle stesse case con balzelli ridicoli non e' certo un modo per invogliare la gente a visitare questa provincia.
Andrebbe anche rinforzato il legame con Puerto Padre, il mare e' a 60 km, ci sono belle spiagge, si mangia gran pesce, perche' cazzo di ragione quella maledetta strada sterrata che da Puerto Padre porta alle spiagge non viene asfaltata?

Di fronte al Capitolio, nella capitale, parte la guagua che con 5 euro ti porta al mare e ti riporta a casa, perche' non fare qualcosa di simile da Las Tunas alle spiagge vicine a Puerto Padre?
Magari non tutti i giorni ma due/tre volte ogni settimana o anche solo il sabato e la domenica potrebbe essere un modo per invogliare il turismo a tornare in citta'.
In settimana giri per locali a Tunas e nel week end vai al mare, non e' che ci voglia un genio...

Il turismo fai da te va bene per quelli come me, per la stragrande
maggioranza della gente invece occorre che chi gestisce il settore offra qualcosa, sono sicuro che ne approfitterebbero anche molti cubani.
Quindi speriamo che l'obiettivo dei 3 milioni venga centrato e che sia soltanto un punto di partenza per un futuro migliore.

It's true that these are mixed companies, it's true that the grain certainly comes from the exterior, it's true that sooner or later tourism will explode again but at the moment those hotels seem to me
cathedrals in the desert.
There is no doubt that the rise in the number of tourists is slower than what the government hoped, we are lower in percentage than other Caribbean countries.

The reasons for this slowed growth are various, meanwhile there is always the problem of the United States.
If a tourist visits Cuba cannot obtain the extension program known as ESTA, this matter has still caused a lot of damage.
To deal with this problem, the government has opened up to other markets such as the Russian one (war permitting), Turkish, Chinese, the Gulf countries and Latin American ones.
I would also add the possibility finally given to Europeans to be able to stay on the island for 6 months without having to leave.

The minister also underlined that from the point of view of air flights we are still below the traffic to the island
carried out in the two-year period 2018/19.

Another point that the minister underlined is the defense of the environment that Cuba is implementing, both on the territory and in the marine environment and the island must be recognized for this.
Having said all these things, I am of the opinion that every province should start working to have its own tourism, what happened in Las Tunas is emblematic.

tourism... needless to remember which one.
Now I don't want to say that the city should focus exclusively on that type of tourism but turning off all the lights at 8pm, sending inspectors in a barrage to rent houses, penalizing the owners of the same houses with ridiculous taxes is certainly not a way to encourage people to visit this province.
The link with Puerto Padre should also be strengthened, the sea is 60 km away, there are beautiful beaches, you eat great fish, why the fuck is that damned dirt road that leads from Puerto Padre to the beaches not being asphalted?

In front of the Capitolio, in the capital, the guagua leaves which for 5 euros takes you to the sea and brings you back home, why not do something similar from Las Tunas to the beaches near Puerto Padre?
Maybe not every day but two/three times every week or even just on Saturdays and Sundays could be a way to encourage tourism to return to the city.
During the week you go around clubs in Tunas and at the weekend you go to the beach, it doesn't take a genius...

Do-it-yourself tourism is fine for people like me, for the vast majority
For the majority of people, however, those who manage the sector need to offer something, I'm sure that many Cubans would also take advantage of it.
So we hope that the 3 million target will be achieved and that it will only be a starting point for a better future.

Cuba cerró 2023 con 2,4 millones de turistas, turistas reales, no cubanos que regresaron a la fiesta.
La meta para 2024, según el ministro de Turismo, Carlos García Granda, es superar los 3 millones, recuerdo que antes de la pandemia más de 4 millones de turistas visitaban la mayor de las Antillas.
Su humilde escriba ha vivido en carne propia el colapso del turismo a causa del virus maldito.
En 2021, en plena pandemia, yo era uno de los poquísimos extranjeros en la isla

Quizás por eso, por este crecimiento planificado (esperado...), Cuba sigue construyendo megahoteles cuyo llenado de momento sigue siendo un ejercicio puramente utópico.
Es cierto que son empresas mixtas, es cierto que el grano seguramente viene del exterior, es cierto que tarde o temprano el turismo volverá a explotar pero de momento esos hoteles me parecen
catedrales en el desierto.
No hay duda de que el aumento en el número de turistas es más lento de lo que esperaba el gobierno, somos inferiores en porcentaje a otros países del Caribe.

Las razones de este lento crecimiento son varias, aunque siempre está el problema de Estados Unidos.
Si un turista que visita Cuba no puede obtener el programa de extensión conocido como ESTA, este asunto todavía ha causado mucho daño.
Para hacer frente a este problema, el gobierno se ha abierto a otros mercados como el ruso (si la guerra lo permite), el turco, el chino, los países del Golfo y los latinoamericanos.
Añadiría también la posibilidad que por fin se da a los europeos de poder permanecer en la isla durante 6 meses sin tener que salir.

El ministro también destacó que desde el punto de vista de los vuelos aéreos todavía estamos por debajo del tráfico hacia la isla.

Otro punto que subrayó el ministro es la defensa del medio ambiente que Cuba implementa, tanto en el territorio como en el medio marino y la isla debe ser reconocida por ello.
Dicho todo esto, soy de la opinión de que cada provincia debería empezar a trabajar para tener su propio turismo, lo ocurrido en Las Tunas es emblemático.

Desde hace años la ciudad es un punto de atracción de cierto tipo.
turismo... no hace falta recordar cuál.
Ahora bien, no quiero decir que la ciudad deba centrarse exclusivamente en ese tipo de turismo, pero apagar todas las luces a las 8 de la noche, enviar inspectores en masa a alquilar casas, penalizar a los propietarios de las mismas casas con impuestos ridículos ciertamente no es una manera de incentivar a la gente a visitar esta provincia.
También hay que reforzar el vínculo con Puerto Padre, el mar está a 60 km, hay playas preciosas, se come buen pescado, ¿por qué carajo ese maldito camino de tierra que va de Puerto Padre a las playas no está asfaltado?

Frente al Capitolio, en la capital, sale la guagua que por 5 euros te lleva al mar y te trae de regreso a casa, ¿por qué no hacer algo parecido desde Las Tunas hasta las playas cercanas a Puerto Padre?
Quizás no todos los días, pero sí dos o tres veces por semana o incluso solo los sábados y domingos, podría ser una forma de incentivar el regreso del turismo a la ciudad.
Entre semana recorres discotecas en Tunas y el fin de semana vas a la playa, no hace falta ser un genio...

El turismo de bricolaje está bien para gente como yo, para la gran mayoría
Para la mayoría de la gente, sin embargo, quienes dirigen el sector necesitan ofrecer algo, estoy seguro que muchos cubanos también lo aprovecharían.
Por eso esperamos que se alcance el objetivo de 3 millones y que sea sólo un punto de partida para un futuro mejor.
