My top 3 places in Australia

Hey, guys,

I'm especially happy to write to today's post - maybe because it will be once again about Australia. Australia was the most beautiful country I have ever been to. Of course I hardly had a "culture shock" here, which I admittedly had a little bit in Thailand. Then the Australians are already very similar to the Europeans. But it wasn't only the extremely positive and super helpful and friendly people who kept Australia in my memory so well. The landscape there is simply incredible! Admittedly, Australia is not only a country but also a continent and therefore has a lot more to offer - but the deserted beaches, the different exotic animal species impressed me very much. Because I still had a lot of nice pictures of Australia that I didn't show here all the time and I had planned to write a final post about Australia - here it is! In this post I would like to show you my top three places in Australia - which I would like to see again in the future and where I had the best experiences. For me they are a "must", if you are ever in Australia. But surely it is very individual and some people like big cities better where you can party well. On the other hand, I liked more abandoned places, which had a lot of nature and exotic animals in freedom to offer. So here are my top 3 places - be curious ;)

# 3: Esperance

The top 3 place is occupied by Esperance. I told you about this place a few months ago. I don't want to repeat myself now with the small introduction about every place, so please check my old posts. Here is just a short info why he made it into my top 3: Esperance is on the west coast. The west coast, we found out, is rather less frequented by backpackers, and if it is, they are a bit older. That's because everything here is further apart and you can not partying here easily. Esperance is not a big city - instead you find deserted beaches that are beautiful - white beach, turquoise sea and not a soul in sight. It doesn't really get any better than this! Here we have seen snakes on the paths and could lie on the beach for hours without meeting a human. But please don't think I have a phobia of people - it was just relaxed and a nice contrast to the east coast.

A great view at Blue Haven Beach

Here one of the many deserted beaches. mostly deserted - do you see the footprints? They are not from us ;)

# 2: Cape Le Grande National Park

The second most beautiful place in Australia for me was the Cape Le Grand National Park. Well, I have only been to two national parks in Australia and I am sure there are many more wonderful national parks, especially in the west of Australia. But this national park was very special - and places in the park were so beautiful that I didn't want to leave them unmentioned - Lucky Bay and Frenchman Peak.

First of all: Maybe you have already noticed that both Esperance and the National Park are located in the south-west of Australia, they are actually also very close to each other, it takes about one hour by car. We went to Cape Le Grand National Park three times - and each time it was an experience in itself.

But now to the great places in the national park. Both are surely not an insider tip and probably a fixed part of every tour to the national park.

Frenchman Peak is a mountain peak on which we climbed up for about 1.5 hours. It was exhausting, but it was worth it in any case. There, we had a great view over wide parts of the National Park and one could actually see the turquoise shimmering water of Lucky Bay, a beach. There was also a small cave on top of the mountain where we saw bats. Definitely a must if you visit the National Park!

The second place in the national park is lucky Bay. It is definitely a well known place, but maybe because it is located on the less visited west coast of Australia it is by no means overcrowded. The special thing: here, you can see kangaroos on the beach and most of the times also stroke them. But not always: in total, we have been three times at the beach, but we only saw kangaroos once. If you are there once and don't see any kangaroos, maybe just take a little more time or come back another time - it's worth it!

The kangaroo absolutely wanted to be in the photo Achja, what I had forgotten to say - all kangaroos are free, but they are already very used to people. Do not feed them

# 1: Lady Elliot Island

Now to the in my opinion most beautiful place in Australia. I'm sure few people would call this place their favourite place in Australia, probably also because very few people visit this place - Lady Elliot Island. This is probably because the island is very small (a few hundred meters), but also because it was relatively expensive to fly here (we went there in a small plane, there were about 8 people in the plane with the captain). The day cost us about 500 Euro for two people, which is relatively expensive even by Australian standards. That was probably also our most expensive trip on our whole journey, but I don't regret it in any case. There was so much to see here and one day was definitely enough. We had the morning and the afternoon for snorkeling. There was a guided tour where we learned interesting things about the animals on the island (birds, rays, sharks and turtles), after that we had enough time for snorkeling. If I was at a paradise place so far, it was Lady Elliot Island. The corals here were already very dead and no longer colorful, but there were many turtles and starfish and generally sea animals to see, up to reef sharks. But I am also sure that there are many other great little islands in the Great Barrier Reef - and Lady Elliot is only one of them. I am sure they are all very similar. But what I can definitely recommend to everybody who flies to Australia and is also willing to spend some more money is to visit the Great Barrier Reef. And with this, I do not mean a mass tourism tour that we also took part in. It is more beautiful in a less visited island, then the nature is even better conserved there and one can discover everything in a more relaxed way. The visit of Lady Elliot Island was probably the most beautiful day in Australia.

Some thoughts at the end

As you may have noticed, only one place on the east coast made it into our top three: Lady Elliot Island. And to be honest, it's difficult to call the island a place, because there was only one hotel here, the island was about 500 meters long (estimated). My sister and I noticed during our backpacking tour in Australia that we rather belong to the kind of backpackers who like to look at nature and less to backpackers who party a lot and travel a lot in big cities. Both types are of course okay, and it was nice to see the big cities as well. But our next destination in Australia will still be the west coast, which is described as much rougher. Here you can find a lot of national parks - so it's just the right thing for us!

I hope as always you liked my post, I had a lot of fun writing the post today and it was also despite the longer text a more fluent writing I had the feeling. Even though I added a lot of photos in this post, I hope that the post loads well and you enjoy it - please write me your feedback!
