Okochi Sanso is the former home and garden of the well-known Japanese actor Deniro Okochi - master of jidaigeki cinema, i.e. historical films about samurai.
This place is located near the bamboo forest in Kyoto, but unlike it, it is a paid attraction, open at certain hours (from 9 am to 5 pm). To enter the former estate of the actor you have to pay 1000 yen (approx. 9,3 USD or 8,55 Euro). This fee also includes a cup of hot Japanese tea - matcha and Japanese candy. You can get them at the teahouse located there.
During a walk in the huge garden, I was captivated by wonderful nature, kept in Japanese style. The autumn colors of the trees were an additional attraction. Many people indicate that there are two best moments for visiting the garden - in the spring, when the trees are blooming, and in the fall, when you can look at the richness and diversity of leaf colors. However, the garden was designed so that its visit was interesting at any time of the year.
I like this photo because as you can see posing for photos can trigger different emotions.
The trees reflected the smooth surface of the pond. The water was calm. All in all a good place to meditate, calm down.
Visiting the garden is above all a long walk in the unusual nature. In this part of the garden I really liked the wrinkled soil heavily overgrown with moss.
And such wooden signs and trees. The property also has four buildings: Daijōkaku (main house), Jibutsudō (Buddhist temple), Tekisuian (tea room) and Chūmon (medium gate).
There is also a museum dedicated to the actor Denjiro Okochi and a high observation platform with a great view of Kyoto.
Finally, Japanese maple, in two types - green
and very autumn, crimson - Momiji
