Cycling trip to Numazu

Today we cycled to Numazu from Mishima. We wanted to go to the Emperors house, actually its an emperors ex house. At this place there are a lot of hydrangeas at this time of year. Its a relatively out of the way place, only costs 100 yen to get into the garden, and its really nice, with many paths to wander around, some which go to the sea, some meandering round the house complex, and some go through the hydrangeas. We got an ice cream in the place and then wandered around. The stretch of coastline from way east of the house, going past Numazu harbour is pretty much a constant strip of nature, trees, birds, gardens and flowers, bordering the coast and its nice to wander and cycle around that area, like we did today. So, having gone round the imperial house, we went a little further east and found another complex of houses with another lovely little Japanese garden, which we were free to wander around. Then we cycled along to coast to a little outcrop and over the river to Numazu harbour, where we had lunch and a couple of beers. We finally cycled back to Mishima along the Kano river that we previously had crossed to go to the harbour. A path goes some way along it, before stopping abruptly and forcing cyclists to take the main road, which we did, back to SunToMoon, the mall and from there to a beer garden in Mishima. It was a very nice afternoon and worth doing if your in the neigbourhood. There are plenty of rent-a-cycles in Numazu, so cycling around the town from the station isn't a problem. Here are a few pictures of the flowers and the coast, which we cycled along today.
