Three Reasons to Visit Luang Prabang, LAOS

THE FOOD
Whenever there's a storm I'll grab my backpack and bike and peddle around town, because these delicious mangos will be scattered everywhere. They're a bit different than ones in Thailand or the West.
I could keep doing travel posts like this just about restaurants here for the next year everyday and I would still not run out of ideas for posts. There are so many great hotels, restaurants, and random things to do here. There has been a strong French influence here for over two centuries so they've got the cooking the way westerners like done pat.
I've been using this mango 🥭 tree as a pull-up bar and sometimes I'll be able to shake some fresh ones down.
BICYCLING
The frame I got for my drawing yesterday was way too big.
I think this frame looks way better. Here are some more random shots I got riding my bike. Riding bikes around city busy bodies sucks, but most drivers here have their own kids riding around on bicycles so it's pretty safe. Some Thai or Chinese tourists in SUV or some western tourists on a bike are the dangerous ones here.
She likes the free mangos falling from the sky too, but was so terrified of Thor.
Have you ever been in one of these bad boys? With today's technology, this same ride could be covered in solar panels, made of lightweight materials, save the Earth, and add cash to drivers' pockets who don't have to buy fuel anymore.
I have a vision or a dream really of bringing solar energy to this part of the world. I created a Facebook page called, Solar for Siam, but at this point, that is all it really is, a FB page. If you have passion for this too let me know and I'll make you an admin.
I saw these tourist playing sand bowling with some local kids by the river.
After you have the balls and path...
Let the balls roll. I forgot if the point was to roll the furthest or to crush your opponent's ball. Either way, they all had fun.
Would you dare spend the night in this haunted old place?
HAPPINESS
I'm so happy to have captured my first butterfly. I'm even happier to have been able to live here. There is something truly special about Luang Prabang. It's a spiritual journey to visit here.
Thanks for enjoying Luang Prabang again with me today. I hope my pictures brought you a bit of happiness too.
