My Khe Beach boasts a coastline of over 900 meters. This Beach is world-renowned for its smooth white sand, year-round warm water, calm sea waves, and dotted coconut groves, which makes My Khe beach an irresistible beauty.

With a shallow sea level, visitors can comfortably swim in the cool blue water and see Ngu Hanh Son majestic majesty or Cu Lao Cham island, far away from Hoi An. You certainly cannot resist the beautiful scene of the sunrise or sunset while you are next to this sea.

How to get to My Khe Beach

Located in Phuoc My ward, Son Tra district, My Khe beach stretches nearly 10 km from the foot of Son Tra Peninsula to Non Nuoc - Ngu Hanh Son. Located about 3km from the center of Da Nang, visitors have many options to go to My Khe beach.

Plane

Currently, many flight routes depart from places such as Hanoi, Saigon, Nha Trang, to Da Nang. Depending on the time and economic conditions, you can choose the most suitable flight, the airfare to Da Nang is usually only from 500,000 VND, and the flight takes about one and a half hours.

From Da Nang airport: Follow Nguyen Van Linh street to the Dragon bridge. On the other side, continue to follow Vo Van Kiet street, pass Vo Nguyen Giap street, turn left into Truong Sa, and continue for approximately 70m to reach My Khe beach.

Train

Trains from Hanoi or Saigon to Da Nang have different prices ranging from 300,000VND to 1,200,000VND (depending on the type of train and seat class). Travel time by train from Hanoi or Saigon to Da Nang is from 14 hours to 20 hours.

Long-distance bus

Fares for long-distance buses traveling from Hanoi or Saigon to Da Nang have a price range around VND 400,000 to VND 500,000.

• Starting in Hanoi, you can grab a bus at Giap Bat or Nuoc Ngam bus station.

• Starting from Saigon, you can catch the bus at Mien Dong Bus Station.

Traveling by long-distance bus can take about 18 to 20 hours to get to Da Nang. From the center of Da Nang city, visitors should take a taxi to cross the Han River bridge straight along Pham Van Dong street about 1.5 km to My Khe beach.

Best times to visit the My Khe Beach

While you can swim almost all year round on My Khe Beach, the best time is in the summer. Great swimming starts around May and goes till around August.

Additionally, visitors can go to the Beach in the early morning or late afternoon to witness the sunrise or sunset, which is one of the most precious scenes you cannot miss when coming to Da Nang city.

Some helpful tips when coming to My Khe Beach

• Before entering the sea, you should warm up for at least 5 minutes.
• Be Mindful not to swim too far from the shore; deeper than 5m could be dangerous.
• Use sunscreen to avoid sunburn and increase your risk of skin cancer.
• Do not go swimming when the temperature is below 18 degrees Celsius.
• Most of the beaches in Da Nang have poisonous jellyfish, so to avoid being attacked by jellyfish, you should wear a discreet swimsuit and prepare sour vinegar in advance to be ready to give first aid to the wound. If you forget to bring vinegar, you can wash the wound gently with seawater and then cover it with sand to limit the jellyfish's venom.
• Signs of reverse current you should avoid when swimming: it will usually be darker in color than the surrounding water, the surface often has smaller and calmer waves, and bubbles or debris may appear on the surface.
