Athens with Snow

Today is a special day for Athens, a historic one to be exact. You all know Athens and Greece as a beautiful city with lots of history, too many sunny days and awesome beaches! What you don't know is that in Athens it snowed these past two days and to be more exact, today it snowed... a lot.

You may wonder, so what? but let me tell you that in Athens and in many suburbs around the city we have to see so much snow for years. In fact, i have to see in my municipality for over 7 years so much snow.

To add to that i heard 2 different versions of the story. The first one says that we have to see snow like that since 1987 and the other from 2004. Either way, even if take the latest version for granted, we are talking about 17 years ago!

You should know that people during these hard times with Covid19, stayed at home for far too long (not everyone). These people needed something to have some fun and what better than a snowy day? Add to that the fact that it took so many years for us to see snow like this and there you have it.

Like a kid, when i realized how much snow was outside i quickly tried to find my winter "snow" clothes and shoes and run outside. I was outside as early as 8 in the morning and i wasn't alone, i was with 3 friends!

We saw cars stuck in the snow, people with umbrellas, and tons of people that went out to play and have some fun. You could see families with kids and pets and even random people playing among themselves. I am guilty as i made a snowball, hit a random guy with his friends and then we started a snow war!

I even saw some people doing snowboard! It was also awesome to see my town like this, it was actually like a completely different town, which was amazing. I hope that you liked all the photos i presented, everything is mine and "fresh" for you! Here is a bonus one from my neighborhood!
