I want to tell you about another interesting place - the village of Bogolyubovo.

This settlement was founded in 1158 by order of Prince Andrew, who later became the residence of this prince. It is known that during the reign of Prince Andrew, one of the brightest representatives of the Rurik dynasty, the city of Bogolyubovo was one of the largest in pre-Mongol Russia.

Andrei Bogolyubsky is the son of one of the brightest Russian princes, who left a bright mark in the history of Russia, Yuri Dolgoruky. And Yuri Dolgoruky, as you know, founded Moscow.

Son Yuri, Andrei Bogolyubsky - after the death of his father, who ruled in Kiev, became the prince of Vladimir, Suzdal and Rostov. During his reign in Vladimir, many important architectural objects of ancient Russia were built under his leadership.

The temple and at the same time part of the fortifications of the city - the Golden Gate. This object still pleases the residents of Vladimir and is the hallmark of the city. Inside the temple there is now a museum in which one of the objects is the diorama of the capture of Vladimir by hordes of Mongol-Tatars.

Also, one of the most important objects built on the territory of Vladimir at that time is the Assumption Cathedral. This temple was painted by Andrei Rublev himself. The most famous Russian painter-icon painter, who painted churches on wet plaster.

Another very important object that has survived to this day is the Church of the Intercession-on-Nerl. I have already mentioned this temple more than once in my travel notes.

The temple was built in memory of the deceased son of Andrei Bogolyubsky and has survived to this day exclusively by accident.

Usually I came to this particular church and passed the Bogolyusky monastery. But this time I decided to go to the walls of the monastery and was pleasantly surprised and delighted with the beauty that opened up to me.

A small pond had just cleared of ice and the white walls of the monastery were reflected in the smooth water. It was very beautiful and uplifting.

I saw the black figures of monks walking along the white walls of the monastery. Spectacular black shadows on a white background. Blue skies accentuated this contrast. Great place to spend a weekend.
