World Food Safety Day: June 7

For healthy and sustainable life access to safe food is a key requirement. The health issue related to food are infectious and toxic in nature making their diagonis challenging and time consuming. These problem are caused by bacteria, viruses, paracites and contamination of other chemicals which can not be observe with plain eye.

The food safety ensure that food must stay safe in every chain of food chain, production, harvesting, processing, transporting, storage, distribution, preparation and serving.
According to a report, around 600 million cases of foodborne illnesses occur every year. About 420,000 people die every year due to eating unsafe, toxic and infectious food.

The purpose of celebrating 7 June as World Food Safety Day is to increase awareness, attract attention, and inspire action to promote food security, to prevent, detect, and manage food-related risks, human health, and economic prosperity.
