Hello everyone, today I will be reviewing the Cryptopunks NFT collection.

CryptoPunks was launched as a fixed set of 10,000 items back in the middle of 2017. It became one of the major inspirations behind the ERC-721 standard that powers most collectible, digital art, blockchain game items and virtual worlds presently. Places like The PBS News hour, The New York Times, and Christie's of London have featured CryptoPunks.

CryptoPunks have been one of the most prominent NFT collections, and they have contributed significantly to the widespread innovation of NFTs.
It is important to state that CryptoPunks were the first NFT collection on Ethereum.

CryptoPunks was launched by Larva Labs in June 2017 when they released 10,000 NFTs with proof of ownership linked to the Ethereum Blockchain for free. Anyone could claim these NFTs for free provided they paid gas fees, and they had an Ethereum wallet.

Each NFT was generated algorithmically, and as a result, no two characters are alike, with some of them having traits that are even rarer than others. Furthermore, the number of NFTs will never surpass the original 10,000 CryptoPunks.
Thus, two things should come to mind. First is scarcity, as a result of the fact that only 10,000 CryptoPunks will ever exist. Second is that the traits each punk has determines their market value.

CryptoPunks are really symbolic in the crypto space. They are regarded as visionaries and pioneers who correctly foresaw the huge rise of NFTs. As a result of this symbolic value attached to them, Crypto punks have more appeal and the huge investments made in them are justified.

Let us take a look at the Cryptopunks trading statistics.
