Did the ETH merge had any effect on the GPU market || Tron Fan Club

Hello my dear friends and fellow tron lovers. I hope everyone is doing alright by the grace of almighty ALLAH. I am also well in health and mind alhamdulillah.

As we all know, eth have had merged a few days ago or we can call it the eth 2.0. The merge is basically an upgrade to the Ethereum blockchain. This merge now represents the eth blockchain from proof of work to now proof of stake. This merge happened on Sept. 15, 2022 at approximate 6.43 am utc. Which is why mining Eth with the use of GPU won't be possible now. So now will the prices of the graphics cards drop?

Since, mining eth with gpu won't be possible anymore, what will the old gpu holders do now? If they sell their GPU's in the second hand market then we can finally get our hand on cheaper gpu's. Because till now almost 80% of the graphics cards were bought by the miners and cause of their rapid use, gamers had very little possibility of getting new graphics cards because of the pricing of the cards. As an example in 2018 or early 19 we could get our hands on cards like the gtx 1660 super for around 200 to 250 usd from the market. But that situation is long gone. Now most of the gpu are already out of stock after only a few days after they are shifted in to market. Because of this rapid usage and shortage of the cards, the prices of the graphics cards started to climb heavily. Because of this rapid climb in prices we can now barely get our hands on cards like 1660 super in around 450 usd range. The cards cost more that 500 usd in some regions.

Which is why gamers could no longer afford their desired Gpu's and they had to shift to buying cpu's with in built graphics or igpu. This igpu based processors are helping a lot in this moment of crisis time. Which is why their prices also increased significantly but they are at least some what still in range.

But after the eth merge now we can finally hope for the prices of the gpu to drop and finally afford them and play the high end games without any lags and other sorts of problems. If the demand of the graphics cards gets down then so will the price of them. But this price drop won't happen in a spike. It will surely take some time. But we have waited so long and we can surely wait some more. But what we can do now is to look for used gpu's in the internet or in the market. Because miner's won't be able to mine eth with the gpu's no more. They will surely sell them right away and still try to make at least some profit. Because once the prices go down, they won't be able to sell them at prices which they can sell now. But it will still be cheap compared to the current prices of brand new one's. So, if you don't wanna wait out more time and want to get your hand on one now then I suggest you go for the used ones.

Because in countries like Bangladesh, the syndicate of Gpu's is far from over. Prices may drop on other countries and regions but it's not gonna be the same in here in a long shot. To prevent this problem what we can do is to stop buying new cards from retail shops so they can re-think their plans and finally reduce the price. But some rich kids will always buy them no matter the price. So, this plan is less likely to work. As an alt, we can get the cards from other regions rather then ours to save up some money. But it has another problem. If the cards somehow get damaged or catches any problem then we won't be able to get the warranty of the product and will have to shift them back to where we got em from. Yes, this will be a very problematic situation and costly also. I think the best for users like me to wait out and get a new one once the prices drop. So we can also get the warranty in case the product faces any problems.

I thought the merger would help raise the cost of ETH, but it turns out I was mistaken after all. Since it has stopped using the Proof-Of-Work technique, which demands a powerful GPU and raises the cost of GPUs, I anticipate that GPU prices will gradually decrease.

Lastly, happy birthday to @tintin

The merge had it's advantages and disadvantages
