Hello friends,
I believe all is well and we are all doing great, and we are all making quality post.
I also believe that we are actively engaging with the post of one another.

Before I proceed to making my post, I will love to appreciate the hard-working moderators of this community for their tireless efforts in contributing to the growth of this community.

This post is aimed at explaining to us the amazing things that we can do with our Google search bar.

We all know what a Google bar is, even the newbies amongst us, and probably we have made use of our google bar today, or even this week.

Many thinks that the google bar is only used to search links or to login to steemit, or better still to search for the meaning of a word online.

Well I am glad to say that the google bar can be useful for many interesting things of which i will explain below.

TO PERFORM MATHEMATICAL CALCULATIONS

One Important tool the Google search bar can turn into is a calculator.
The google search bar can help to solve direct and simple arithmetical problems.

As seen above, the google search bar gave quick and direct solutions to the above laid problem.

As also seen above, google search bar was able to distinguish between 5^3 and 5×3.
5^3 can also be represented as 5³ which equals 5×5×5 which equals 125.

The google search bar can also be used to solve complex arithmetical problems, such as this:
5^5/5×5

As shown above, the google search bar gave the correct answer to the problem above.

The google search bar can also solve mathematical problems involving shapes (perimeter and area).
Let's take for example: Find the area and perimeter of a rectangle, provided it has a length of 4 and it a width of 6.

As seen above, the google search bar easily provided the answer to those problems.

To find the area of the rectangle, I simply inputed "area of a rectangle" on the search bar, and then, I inputed it's length and width.

And to find find the perimeter of the rectangle, I simply inputed "perimeter of a rectangle" on the search bar, after which I inputed the value of it's length and width.

As shown above, the google search bar also help give the formula for finding the area of a trapezium.

I got the area of a trapezium by inputting the word "area of a trapezium" in the google search bar, and also when I inputed the needed values, I easily got the answer to the area of that trapezium.

As shown above, I found the perimeter of a trapezium which is a+b+c+d, where a,b,c,d are the sides of the trapezium.

Also, when i inputed the values of each side, I got the answer to the perimeter of the trapezium.

It also very interesting to know that the google search bar can solve other complex mathematical problems such as angles, trigonometry problems, factorial problems and many more.

FOR UNITS CONVERSION

Another interesting tool the google search bar can be used for is to convert from one units to another.

A unit can be explained to be a magnitude of quantity that was adopted by the law to be a standard for measurement for some quantity.

For example, the standard unit for distance/length is meter(m)

• The standard unit for time is seconds(sec)
• The standard unit for Mass is kilogram (kg)

As seen above, to be able to convert from one unit to another, you just input "unit conversation calculator" and then select the unit you wish to convert just as shown above.

As shown above, I selected to select length as the fundamental quantity.
And in the first screenshot, I converted from millimeters to centimeters, and from the second screenshot, I converted from meters to centimeters.

From the conversion above, 10mm = 1cm and 10m = 1000cm

As seen above, I switched to a different quantity which is time, and as we know, time can be measured in secs, minutes, hours, days etc.

As shown from the first screenshot on the left, I converted from days to minutes. Let's carryout a little calculation.

1hour = 60minutes
1day= 24hours = 60×24 = 1440minutes
Then 60days = 60 × 1440 = 86,400minutes.
And this corresponds to the answer given by google search bar, interesting right?

And from the second screenshot on the right hand side, I performed a simple conversion.
I converted from seconds to minutes, and as seen above, 60seconds = 1minute.

As seen above, I chose a different quantity which is mass, and we know that mass can be explained to be anything that has weight and occupy space and mass can be measured in grams, kilograms, milligrams etc.

From the first screenshot on the left hand side, I made a conversion between kilogram and grams.
And from the second screenshot, I made a conversion between milligram and gram.
And it is seen that 1milligram = 0.001gram.

The google search bar can also be used to convert units of temperature, and as seen above, I converted from Kelvin to fahrenheit and also from celcius to fahrenheit.

Using the google search bar, you can convert within celcius, fahrenheit and kelvin, but cannot be converted to ranke.

Another Important unit that can be converted using google search bar is pressure.
Pressure can be measured using different units and google search bar can help us convert from one unit to another.

As seen above, I converted between units of measurements of pressure, from standard atmosphere to bar on the left hand side, and from pascal to bar on the right hand side.

As explained, the google search bar is very useful for units conversion.

FOR TIME CONVERSION

What if you have a very important meeting with your business partners across the world?, as we know the time used in Africa is different from that used in Asia, America etc.
Does that mean that time will prevent you from holding such a business meeting?

Not at all, the google search bar got you covered.
With google search bar, you can easily convert from one time to another.
All you need to do is to input the question on the google search bar and you get your immediate conversion.

As seen above, I inputed the kind of time conversion I want into the Google search bar.
As seen above on the left hand side, I converted 5pm est to Nigerian time and it equal 22:00 which equals 10pm Nigerian time.

And as shown on the right hand side, I converted 5pm GMT to Nigerian time and it equal 18:00 which is equivalent to 6:00pm Nigerian time.

I remember when I was new to steemit, when I was about to begin steemit crypto academy to be precise.
Steemit blog would say that the post runs until on Saturday 11:59pm UTC time.
I do think it's same as Nigerian time, not until I used the google search bar to check it's equivalent to Nigerian time.

As seen above, I converted 11:59 UTC time to Nigeria time and it equals 00.59 Nigerian time.

COUNT DOWN TIMER

A countdown timer can be explained to be a virtual clock that helps to countdown from a specific time,date or period to indicate the beginning or the end of an event.

For example, let's assume my birthday is on the 23rd of July and today is 18th of July.
I can easily say countdown 5days from now and it will be my birthday.
This countdown can be done using the countdown timer for more accuracy.

A countdown for a larger period like months, weeks,days is usually easy to perform, more especially with the availability of of a calendar, but what about those of seconds, pico seconds and nano seconds, well this can be done using a countdown timer.

To access a countdown timer, simple input countdown timer on the google search bar and it will easily appear.

Sometimes a stopwatch is usually used instead of a countdown timer but they perform similar operations

As shown above, I can access a countdown timer and a stopwatch through the use of google search bar.

We can start the countdown by clicking on start icon, that's after we have set it to the time we want to countdown to.

WEATHER FORECAST

Weather forecasting can be explained to be the application of science and technology to be able to predict the weather condition of a specific geographical region over a specific period of time.

Weather forecasting is usually done by gathering quantitative data of the present and previous weather conditions, which will inturn help in predicting the weather.

In case you have plans of going out but you are uncertain of the weather condition for the day, you can easily check it up using google search bar, and this can thus influence your dressing for the day.

You can do this by inputting the word "weather forecast" alongside the location you wish to forecast.

Using the weather forecast from google search bar, I was able to get the forecast for the next 7days, which will inturn help me plan out my day.

CURRENT TIME

Another usefulness of the google search bar is that it helps to tell the current time of any location in the world.

For example, you found yourself in another geographical region, probably a different country, you don't need to begin converting from your time to the time of the location you find yourself in.
You can easily get the current time of your present location.

Let's imagine you are from Nigeria and you decided to take a vacation to Canada, of course Canadian's time is different from Nigeria's.
Instead of converting, you can easily input in the google search bar on your device "Canada's current time" and the current time of Canada will be given to you.

As seen above, while in Nigeria, I could easily access the current time in America and Canada respectively, just with the use of google search bar.

CURRENT LOCATION AND FURTHER DIRECTION

Sometimes when we are going to visit an old friend in a location we aren't familiar with, we tend to get lost or constantly call and ask people for directions.

Or when we are new in an environment, we tend to ask people where the nearby gas station is, where the nearby supermarket is and all sorts of questions that we wouldn't want to ask always.

With the use of google search bar, we can easily locate the nearest supermarket, gas station and other places without disturbing our neighbors.

All you need to do is to input it on the google search bar as seen below

As seen above, I used the google search bar to aid me in discovering where the nearest bank and gas station is to me.
Isn't that wonderful, it is!

The google search bar can also aid us in discovering our current location, probably we went out and miss our way, with google search bar, we can easily find our location.

As shown above, I inputed "my location" on google search bar and it immediately brought out my exact location.
If I were to be lost, it would be easy to find my way.

CHECK SUNRISE AND SUNSET

Another usefulness of the google search bar is that it can be used to check the sunrise and sunset of any location.

Probably you changed location, and you wish to see sunrise and sunset from your new location, you can do so by making use of google search bar, the below screenshot will explain better.

For me to know when the next sunset and sunrise will occur in Lagos State, I inputed the word "sunset in Lagos" and "sunrise in Lagos".

As seen above, the time for the next sunset and sunrise was displayed.

FUN FACTS

This is another very interesting feature of google search bar. It is not only used for serious things but can also be used to catch some fun.

You can use the google search bar to see some fun facts about people, animals, places or or even see some jokes.

All you have to do is to type "fun facts" and lots of fun facts will appear, just as shown below.

As seen above, fun facts appeared when I inputed it to the google search bar.

CONCLUSION

As explained above, there are numerous things campus student can do with google search bar, other than visiting website, doing research for school project, doing assignment e.t.c.
They can also catch some fun, find there location and so on.

You can also explore the google search bar to discover more things you can do with it.
