As we have earlier said, there are several advantages of collision resistance and some of them are.
- MESSAGE DIGEST:
The cryptography message digest plays a very important role in the modern cryptography, ensuring authentication, security and integrity of data.

Message digest can be explained to be a fixed size string of characters which can be generated through the application of cryptographic hash functions into an input message.
It function as a unique identifier to the message and it's main goal is the verification of the integrity and authenticity of data.
Now, let's understand the various ways in which collision resistance is beneficial to message digest.
DATA INTEGRITY VERIFICATION
One of the advantages of resistance collision in message digest is the verification of data integrity.
Here, when a data is stored on the system or transferred over a network, it appears weak and vulnerable to different threats, including malicious tampering and unintentional errors.
However, through the comparison of the received message digest to the expected message digest can be used in determining whether the data has been altered.
DIGITAL SIGNATURES
Digital signature is one very important part of secured communication.
It helps in guaranteeing that a message is being sent by the intended sender and that it was not tampered with during message transmission.
In this process, the collision resistance plays a very important role, in the sense that, once a digital signature is created, it's message digest is being calculated and encrypted with it's private keys.
The signature can then be decrypted by the recipient using the sender's public key and then making a comparison of it with the newly digest from the received message.
If the digest matches, then it is an indication that the message has not been tampered with.
