What's Public Blockchain

When we talk about public chain what does this entail and what is it really, we know that blockchain is a hardcore technogy where cryptocurrencies are built on but what is a public blockchain.

This is a type of blockchain where everyone can freely participate in, even view the transaction on the chain and even be able to verify transactions and data. This is blockchain that's open to everyone as the name entails "public" chain and it allows users to freely access the network in a permissionless manner.

In public blockchain any user can easily join the network and freely conduct transactions. They also allow any user in the chain to freely give their contribution to the networks consensus process and they do this without any need for authorization.

Key characteristics of public blockchains

Decentralization: Decentralization is a major feature of public blockchain. In public blockchain the control isn't with any single entity neither is there any central authority that controls the affairs of the network as the activities on a public blockchain operates in a purely decentralized manner.

Public blockchain isn't operated in a centralized manner rather has a distributed network of nodes which actually helps to maintain the blockchain network in a process known as consensus mechanism.

Transparency: Transparency is one good feature of a public blockchain, as the transactions and data stored on a public blockchain is accessible and completely visible to all in the blockchain network in a truly transparent nature.

Because of the transparent nature of a public blockchain it makes it very easier to garner the trust on those in the blockchain and believe in the blockchain as they are able to check any transactions on the chain without asking for anyone's permission all the users can check and verify information on a public blockchain in a truly independent nature.

Immutability: In a public blockchain there is immutability of data which is to say is next to impossible for anyone to alter any block that is being added to the blockchain so any information stored verified and added to the network can't be altered or changed.

Because of this great feature of a public blockchain it ensures that the network users trust the blockchain because the know that their recorded information is safe as public blockchain upholds high integrity.
