Understanding tron energy

in Tron Fan Club8 months ago

In my last post, I shared the basics of Tron's "bandwidth" and how it is used. In this post, I will talk about energy, which is just as significant as bandwidth.
This energy is essential for executing transactions, running smart contracts, and interacting with decentralized applications (DApps) on the Tron network.

Let's break down how energy works and how you can use it in simpler terms:

Obtaining Energy:
To get energy, you need to freeze your TRX tokens. Freezing TRX means you lock them up for a specific period. In return, you receive something called "Tron Power" (TP). Tron Power can be converted into energy. The more TRX you freeze, the more Tron Power and energy you'll have at your disposal.

Once again, as I mentioned in my post yesterday, staking, freezing, voting, and so on can be done through Tronlink in TronScan, These are the most common tools, but there are other options, too.

Using Energy:
Energy is like the fuel that powers actions on the Tron blockchain. When you send TRX or perform various tasks on the network, such as executing smart contracts or interacting with DApps, you consume energy. It's essentially the computational power required to make these activities happen. To use energy, you need to have it available in your Tron wallet.

Energy Limit:
Every Tron account comes with a daily energy limit. Once you've used up all your energy for the day, you can't perform any more actions that require energy until the limit resets. This limit helps manage network resources and prevent overuse.

To simplify it further, I will now talk about the differences between bandwidth and energy:

Bandwidth vs. Energy:
In addition to energy, there's another concept on Tron called "bandwidth." Bandwidth is different from energy. It's used for regular transactions like sending TRX. Bandwidth doesn't have the same computational power as energy. Energy is reserved for more complex operations, like running DApps and smart contracts.

In summary, energy on the Tron blockchain is a resource that allows you to perform computational tasks like running DApps and executing smart contracts. You obtain energy by freezing TRX, and you need it in your wallet to power these actions. Just remember that there's a daily limit on energy usage, and it's separate from the bandwidth, which is used for regular transactions. This system helps keep the Tron network running efficiently.
