Greetings Everyone

About

Shelf gardening is a creative and space-efficient approach to cultivating plants in confined or indoor environments. This method involves utilising shelves or vertical structures to arrange and display a variety of plants, maximising the use of available space. Whether you have limited outdoor space or live in an urban setting, shelf gardening allows individuals to transform walls, balconies, or even windowsills into thriving green spaces. This technique is particularly popular among urban dwellers, enabling them to enjoy the benefits of gardening without the need for a traditional backyard. By carefully selecting plant varieties and arranging them strategically on shelves, enthusiasts can create visually appealing displays while optimising sunlight exposure and airflow. Shelf gardening not only adds a touch of nature to constrained spaces but also offers a rewarding and manageable way to engage in the joy of nurturing plants and witnessing their growth. With this in mind I have made this to inspire people to plant more plants and make our Earth more livable.

Concept

To be more environmentally conscious and sustainable in their actions. The current plant crisis, characterised by deforestation, land degradation, and loss of biodiversity, is largely a result of rapid industrialization and human activities. To minimise its negative effects and inspire people towards a more sustainable future I have created this.

Step 1

Make the base of our shelf with a deep brown colour. I have used a two legged shelf and a dark oak colour.

Step 2

Now we will create our radio. First we will take inspiration from late 90s Radio . I used a colour scheme of dark purple, brown and a brownish Burgundy.

Step 3

Firstly create a rounded rectangle with a brownish purple colour. Then take another rounded rectangle and fill it with the purple colour.

Step 4

Then take circles and use it to make knobs for the radio. Make sure to use multiple circles and use effective strokes to make it stand out.

Step 5

On the top half of the body make meshes using white lines, it creates a more dynamic effect and adds a lot of details.

Step 6

Now we add out plants, for the left one we create the pot using a rounded rectangle and a beige colour, make sure to add strokes to it too.

Step 7

now add a plant to your liking, feel free to follow what i did, There is no specific direction for this.

Step 8

For the right one use a rectangle and make the pot with an oakish colour. Use a longer plant for “The Flow”. Also there is no specific direction. Export your art.
