Concept

The art is inspired by big cities and gradients. I believe gradient is one of the most interesting tools in Adobe Illustrator. I have always been inspired by big cities. Those huge structures inspired me to this

About

This art was done in adobe illustrator and took about an hour to complete. I took my favourite tool (gradient) and used it in a playful and unique way. Hope you like this art.

Step 1

Create a square the same size as your canvas and use the gradient tool. Then use a light blue colour [#93a5cf] and a washed out white colour [#e3eee8].

Step 2

Now take the pen tool and create the shadows of the back buildings, we don't need to be 100% precise on this one just create something that looks okay to you.

Step 3

Now duplicate the previous layer and reflect it for use use a lighter shade of colours i used a gradient consisting of [#93a5cf] and [e3eee8]

Step 4

Now take a triangle and fill it with the gradient used in step 3
Now take a rectangle and use the same gradient with the colours [#b2ace2] and [#505285].

Step 5

Now take the gradient settings form the previous steps and make thin rectangles for the windows use the pathfinder tool to evenly space these out.

Step 6

Now make 4 rectangles with the same gradient consisting of [#667ce7] and [#744ca3]

Step 7

Now add a shade on the other side of the building consisting off a light gradient [#fcfbf9] and [#e2d1c4].

Now make a long rectangle with [#3a3571] and make several duplicate of it and use the pathfinder tool to evenly space them out.

Now export your creation.
