Reading your wonderful diary, I felt as if I had traveled with you from that cloudy morning in Apuré and Guarico to the sunset. The strange peace that exists between the touch of the medicinal 'Colombian plant' and the Sharifa tree in the yard in the morning, or sharing breakfast with the birds, is beautifully expressed throughout your writing. However, the appearance of the flooded plains of Guarico and the Moriche palm forest after crossing the Maria Nieves Bridge touched me the most. The way you spoke about your spiritual connection with nature while watching the sunset on the riverbed on your way back at the end of the day is truly touching.
