Have you judged someone wrongly before? Tell us the story

Yes, I have judged someone wrongly before. It happened last year in June when I travelled to Nyanya to stay with my sister. There was this guy in the compound, and when I first got there, I used to greet him every day. But it always felt like he didn’t hear me or just didn’t respond properly. I greeted him like 3 or 4 times and didn’t really get a reply, so I stopped greeting him. I just assumed he was proud or didn’t want to talk to me.

I heard no idea that he was actually just a very shy and a reserve kind of person.

One day, I was going to Masaka, and by chance, he was going there too. We both came out of the compound at the same time, and to my surprise, he started talking to me. I was really shocked because I never expected it. That’s when I got to know that I had judged him wrongly.

Since that day, we became good friends. In fact, now we’re really close and relate so well.

Do you think is right to judge someone maybe because of the appearance without knowing what the person is up to?

No, I don’t think it’s right to judge someone just because of how they look. Sometimes, we see someone and quickly conclude we know who they truly are or what they look like, but most atimes, we are very wrong. Every person you see has a story, and sometimes people act certain ways or look a certain way for reasons we are not aware of.

I have actually done it before, and I felt really bad when I found out the truth about the person. I learned a big lesson, not to be too quick to judge a person. It’s better to act with kindness and just try to understand and get to know people better before making any conclusions about them.

Someone you thought is proud or unfriendly might turn out to be one of the nicest people you will ever meet in your entire life. So,, DO NOT BE QUICK TO JUDGE!!

What do you do when you realize that you were judging someone wrongly

When I realized I had judged that guy in Nyanya wrongly, I honestly felt a bit ashamed. I had already made up my mind that he was proud or didn’t want to talk to me, just because he didn’t answer my greetings well. But I was really surprised that particular day where he first talked to me on our way to Masaka. He was actually friendly and easy to talk to.

After that, I changed the way I saw him. I started greeting him again and we began talking more. I didn’t let pride hold me back. I accepted that I was wrong and I gave him a chance. And guess what? I’m so glad I did, because now we are very good friends.

So when I judge someone wrongly, I try to admit it by myself, I correct my mistake, I change how I see the person and treat the person better. We all make mistakes, but what matters is what we do after we realize them.

Do you think people's appearance matters?

In as much as a person's appearance might be the first thing we notice, it doesn’t really show who they are on the inside. There are times people dress or look a certain way probably because of where they are coming from, mood, culture. But that doesn’t define their heart, their values, or how they treat people around them.

From the experience I had, the story I shared about the guy in Nyanya, I learned that appearance can be misleading atimes. He looked like someone who has bride or didn’t care, but deep down, he was just shy and really nice.

Therefore,, I am on the opinion that people's appearance doesn't really matter when it comes to judging someone’s character. It’s more important to take time to know who they truly are.

Thank you all for stopping by🥰🥰
