Drawing a Watermelon
Using Canva, the picture was made. |
---
In order to satisfy my passion for sketching, I made the decision to create a colorful artwork of a watermelon here today. I began my creative adventure with just a few basic instruments, and I am thrilled to provide you with a glimpse into the process that I went through. Let's get started.
🔹a white paper,
🔹a pencil,
🔹an eraser,
🔹and some colored pencils
Step 1 Draw the basic shapes
---
First, I drew the watermelon slice's form as a half-moon. This shape is what the slice's shape is built on. After that, I drew a circular form to show the whole watermelon. This made the form of the fruit possible in the first place.
Step 2 Adding Details
---
When the basic forms were set, it was time to add details that would make the picture stand out. A little at a time, I carefully drew seeds all over the watermelon slice. For the whole watermelon, I drew long, curved lines that looked like the skin's natural bumps. These details made the picture come to life.
Step 3 Add the finishing touches
---
I put a stem sticking out from the top of the watermelon to finish it off. This little thing made the drawing look more realistic and improved its general look.
Step 4 coloring
---
Once the sketch was done, it was time to add color to the piece. First, I carefully filled in the oval shape of the watermelon's body with a light green color. Later, I used a darker shade of green to make the lines on the outside of the fruit stand out. For the watermelon slice, I used both types of green to show how bright the colors were.
Step 5 Final touch
---
Next, I used a bright red color to fill in the juicy part of the watermelon slice. This gave the drawing more depth and volume. Finally, I used a black colored pencil to draw the seeds on the slice and the whole watermelon in a way that made sense.
As a result, now I have a watermelon artwork that is exquisitely portrayed. A few simple tools and some creative thinking went into the gradual creation of this artwork. I want this creative journey to be just as enjoyable for you as it was for me.
