That the French can even create a sophisticated grilled cheese is hardly surprising. How come it's so much superior?
They also add a creamy bechamel sauce, which melts into the cheese to give it a texture akin to mac & cheese.
Although it may seem a bit excessive, the extra few minutes are worthwhile.
And the Gruyère cheese, if you can locate it, will blow your mind.
