Banksy Visits Reading!

Earlier this week, one of the world's most famous, and totally anonymous street artists (Banksy) made a trip to Reading (the town I was brought up in) to create another masterpiece. This time, on the wall of what used to be Reading's prison...

It's fair to say, the artistry in itself is impressive but more so, the assumed story behind it (only Banksy knows the true meaning). This is the prison in which Oscar Wilde wrote "The Ballad of Reading Gaol" in the 19th Century - you can just about make out the typewriter in the photo.

Not only is there artistry in his mural, but he also went to the effort of creating another piece of art by recording a video of him doing it, overlaying a video of legendary artist Bob Ross which you can view on his Instagram (link below)...

How Banksy has remained anonymous for so long is a feat in itself.

UPDATE: Another possible twist on this is that there are people who want to knock the prison down and build flats so by placing a valuable work of art on one of the walls, it'll make the decision to tear it down much harder.
