Amphibians like this are a blessing to find!

Well, we enjoy finding them anyway. You see, amphibians are creatures that can often absorb various contaminants and pollutants into their bodies through their skin, so when an ecosystem begins to be corrupted, they are some of the first to go. When we find lots of amphibians in an area, that can be a good sign of a relatively healthy ecosystem. In these photos are three different Central Newts, which is one of the species of salamanders available in our area. To find so many in a short amount of time while exploring a creek bed is a good sign. As usually, we just like to see them, check them out, photograph or video them, and then release them near where we found them. After all, the more of them that are out in the wild now, the more that there should be in the future. Enjoy the photos!
