Hello fellow Steemians! I hope you all are in good health. Today I have come with one of the most hyped up topic which is ROBOTS .

We all keep hearing about the new advances in technology every now and then.So, it is quit certain about the fact that what Robots are,so let's have a brief introduction on what they are and how does they work.

WHAT ARE ROBOTS?

As humans have a body which can move and brain which tells what to do, Robots are simply the machines which can imitate a human in the sense of doing work using intelligence with much accuracy and speed.Robots are very helpful in performing repetitive tasks in industries.

Many robots have a physical body structure like a human has but there are robots which do not have a proper physical structure like a human.

HOW DO ROBOTS WORK?

A robot has a physical structure, a motor,a sensor system and a power supply and a computer brain that performs and controls various tasks.A robot detects what is in its environment, processes it and then respond to it according to how it has been programmed.

Now, let's learn what are the different types of robots.

TYPES OF ROBOTS:

The different types of robots are
• Mobile robots
• Stationary robots
• Autonomous robots
• Remote-controlled robots
• Virtual robots

1)Mobile robots:

As the name suggests,a robot which has the capability to move around in its environment is called a mobile robot. These robots are designed to transport payloads., transport heavy cargo and perform complex tasks using their onboard system like robotic arms. They are very easy to move.

Example: humanoid robots, entertainment pets,drones, unmanned rovers are some of the example of mobile robots.

2)Stationary robots:

These types of robots cannot move which means they perform their tasks by being at their own places. They have robotic arms and computerized machine tools .

These are used for general tasks such as picking ,placing,sorting, welding, assembling and finishing etc. They are quite ideal for industries.These are usually fixed to a particular portion on the floor or ceiling or any other types of surface.

3)Autonomous robots:

These are the kind of robots which can perform tasks without external influence. they are more suitable for spaceflights delivering goods and services etc. they are of great use to a factory as they guarantee perfection and precision.

They are also capable of navigating their environment and behave accordingly.They can work without human control. Example: autonomous helicopter,robot vacuum cleaner, cleaning bots, autonomous drones etc.

4)Remote-controlled robots:

A robot which is operated using a remote or some sort of transmitting device is called a remote controlled robot.
They are used to carry out complex tasks with more presicion. They are used specially for military and combat operations.
Example: PUMA 560, commerical telerobots named Kraft, shilling ,ISE etc.

5)Virtual robots:
Robotic software are called virtual robots. Their special capability is that they can copy the motion of other robots.
They are used for 3-D modeling and rendering of a robot and its surrounding.
