Computer education in Pakistan started in the 70's. At present, certificate, diploma, bachelor's and master's degree courses are being conducted in different universities and institutes in different parts of the country. There are numerous computer institutes in the private sector where one-year and six-month and three-month certificate courses for computer programming and data entry operators are conducted. These institutes are generally approved by the Board of Technical Education of the respective province.
Officially, various levels of education in computer related professions are being conducted in various private and government institutions and universities in Pakistan. These education and training facilities are reviewed below.

Private and semi-government computer education institutes in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Hyderabad, Peshawar, Quetta and other major cities of the country provide training courses in the following fields for a period of 6 months to one year. Do

The basic qualification for admission to these courses is to pass the 10th or 12th class examination. Aptitude test is conducted before admission in standard computer education institutes and admission is given only to those candidates who have passed this test.
For admission in these courses, only those institutions should be approached which are approved by the Technical Education Board of the respective province and whose examinations are supervised by the Technical Education Board. The cost of one course is between 3 to 4 thousand rupees. 2. Diploma courses
One-year or two-year diploma courses in computer science are offered at institutions approved by the Provincial Technical Board. Upon completion of this course, the candidate becomes familiar with different computer languages ​​and their usage. The computer can develop programs, choose the right computer for its organization, and make good use of the microcomputer.
In order to be admitted in this course, the candidate should have passed at least 12th class. In some institutes, inclination test is conducted before admission and only successful candidates are admitted. Tuition costs are around Rs 1,000 per month, including examination fees.

3. B.Sc Computer Science.

A three-year degree course in computer science is offered in Karachi and Lahore under Fast ICS. Fast ICS Karachi was established in 1985, while Fast SAH Institute of Computer Science in Lahore started teaching in January 1991.
On successful completion of three year degree course in Fast Institute of Computer Science, University of Karachi issues B.Sc Computer Science Certificate. The Institute is equipped with IBM 4331 mainframe computer, AS400, mini computer RS6000, mini computer and personal computers with all the necessary facilities. The institute also has its own electronic laboratory and technical library. Admission to the Institute of Computer Science is based on merit.
Basic Qualification Intermediate (Science, Arts, Commerce) Second Division, Success in Mathematics with 45% or higher marks. Candidates have to pass the entrance exam. Successful candidates in this exam are interviewed. Admission is based solely on merit.The cost of a three-year degree course ranges from Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 40,000. But a candidate who is selected on the basis of merit can apply for financial assistance if he cannot afford the huge expenses of the institute. Scholarships are given to such candidates for their educational expenses.

The basic qualification of a candidate for admission in BE Computer Technology is to be successful in 12th class in science along with pre-engineering. Admission is based on merit and reserved seats for different classes.
In computer science, young people with a BE degree work in computer hardware, including designing, operating, maintaining and repairing, installing, buying and selling computers.

The two-year MSc course in Computer Science continues in the following universities.
