In our previous lectures, we've learned what data mining is, application of data mining, how data mining works, stages of data mining, process and techniques of data mining. Data warehousing includes the combinations of technology, methodologies tools and techniques, user management system and data manipulation systems.

it is the collection of data usually current and historical from multiple databases that the organization can use for analysis and decision making.

WAREHOUSE: A warehouse is a subject oriented integrated, time-vibrant and non volatile collection of data in support of Management's decision making

• it brings about the concept of data storage and synchronization according to the need of the data, some that has not been before.

Bringing together of so much data warehouse makes analysis difficult. To address this problem, an organization must use what we called Data Marts.

Is the grouping of related data together and separated from the main body of data in the data warehouse. Data marts are designed to be made available to specific set of users. For example, data about manufacturing may be gathered into a data Mart and be made accessible to the production department. On the other hand Human resources data can be gathered together and form another Data mart and be made available to the human resources employees. This approach makes it easier for each group or part of an organization to access the data they need.

There are significant and unique properties of data warehousing, some of that major ones are as follows;

1. DECISION MAKING SUPPORT: it provides a great support in the decision making process because it's core components involve all e major plans, methodologies and techniques that will be implemented to achieve the goal. Conceptualized and compiled form of data is nicely helpful in taking quick and accurate decisions.

2. Subject orientation: this warehousing is subject oriented data that is gathered from different sources and it has different background and applicational secularities. This helps in smoothing the company's regular operations because grounded knowledge about all required is available with the help of warehousing.

3. Integration: integration is another important and fundamental characteristics of warehouse. The data gathered from different sources are merged after compiling it in a single database which is dynamically and diversely applicable.

4. Time flexibility: it safe time because data stored at the warehouse are identified through the specific time period, according to the need of the data.

5)Non volatile form of data: it is one of the finest way to preserve the entire knowledge of the effective utilization in the future. The data stored here remain stable and safe. This makes data more reliable.

1. Mass storage: data can be stored in the large quantities according to the size of the warehouse. It depends on the organization, what kind of data and the amount of data they require to store for future use.

2. Accurate and grounded: data stored at the warehouse are accurate and grounded containing all the practically possible theories and techniques involved in preserving the data makes it discrete, effective and multi-dimentional.
