INTRODUCTION
If there is one thing about Nigerians, it is that we believe in a lot of Superstitions. In this post I will be listing three animals and pets that is assumed to be evil and is not nice to be associated with.

CATS

*Cats are believed to be evil especially the ones with black furs. People believe that witches use them to carry out their missions.
*Their eyes are scary in the night, some persons assume their eyes would hypnotize them to do their wishes and maybe possess them with evil spirits.
Due to these, people tend to attack cats if seen around them. They try to kill the cats and if the cats does die because of its nine lives, they exclaim that the spirit is a very strong spirit.

BIRDS.

*It is said that witchcraft manifest themselves into the body of evil birds to hinder one's blessings, especially owls, vultures and bat.
*Others say that some of the birds are sent to listen to all their secrets and expose them to the public example parrot.
People do not look away nowadays if a strange bird suddenly flies into their compound of room. They are killed with immediate effect and burned to neutralise any evil it might have spread through the place.

DOGS

*Dogs are seen as the spirit of madness by some persons. They assume that a dog will make one mad and the person will start barking throughout their whole lives except if reversed.
*They are also sacred because it is said that a dog doesn't know it's owner, and might tear its owner to pieces if angered and so people believe that spirits could anger the dogs to attack it's owner. Many people are in this boat. One of my mum's friend was bit by her dog because she traveled for days and the dog has not fed, so the moment she came back the dogs pounced on her and gave her serious injuries. This is a major fear factor that has made people avoid anything that has to dogs.

CONCLUSION
These are some of the superstitions I could find out. Though it may seem as beliefs and superstitions of some persons, that is not to say that we neglect their reasoning. Pets are beautiful creatures but I don't try to convince someone to get one. We live by what we believe.

I will be waiting to read your post.

Lol...sure I will

Lol. The cat superstition is very true. I remember while growing up, I preferred having a cat as pet over a dog but some Nollywood movies discouraged me and put fear portraying cats as Messengers of evil. My love for cats disappeared. Nice article @yuceetoria

Thank you very much for visiting my post. @chinma

What a great piece, you are very right about the bird superstition and I want to believe it's almost the same in all parts of the country. Birds are believed to be a medium to which evildoers carry out there evil duties.
