LESSON NO.1
Companionship and best friend.
I have always been a lover of pets, you learn a lot observing them and you just cannot do wrong by them. Yes, sometimes they try your patiences especially dogs in the case of mine whose name is Besty.
Besty as her name implies is the best companion or best friend one can ask of. She is always there for you through thick and thin, dogs don't let you down. Even if you made them angry this minute, the next minute they are rubbing their tonuge all over you, kissing your face, hands or legs, or they are rolling on the floor waiting for you to rub their bellies. Sometimes I look forward to her barking. If you observe closely, you would realize that their barking is always different. It could a bark of affection or it could be a bark alerting you to danger.
APPLICATION OF LESSONS:
Don't always let things get to you, roll with it and if you need a listening ear, they are there to listen to you.
LESSON NO. 2
SENSITIVE AND OBSERVANT.
Dogs have a great sense of smell and hearing. They are so in tune with their environment. First, when someone is close to the gate of our residence, she barks very loudly especially if it is a scent that she has not perceived before, alerting us to the fact that someone is around the building.
Besty is observant, she is very smart. She knows where most things are placed in the compound and when a new thing is placed, she barks at it sort off informing us that it is intrusive to her.
APPLICATION OF LESSON: Be in tune with what happens around you, don't be too non-challant about things.
LESSON NO.3
DOGS ALSO GET VERY SICK.
The past month has been a challenging month for Besty. She has been fighting off sickness to bugs that wouldn't let her be, sucking all light from my dog. She got so quiet, she wouldn't eat nor have strength to bark. Unfortunately for us, we were in the village that didn't have a vet clinic so their was no way to admit her, until we got back to Umuahia town. It really scared my parents and I because we have not seen this sort of thing before.
Finally the day before yesterday, we took her to the vet who treated her and gave us drugs for her. She was so scared of the injection that was to be administered to her, that she bit her doctor and ran around the compound scratching the walls to reduce the pains. I felt her pains.
APPLICATION OF LESSONS: Always take care of your pets, know their likes and take them for check-ups monthly.

CONCLUSION
Dogs truly are the best companion one can find. They are bold and courageous, sensitive but also have feelings. They are attention seekers. Make out time, spend it with them even for a few minutes and see how happy you made them.
