Rescue Diary - California Dreaming (Stanley finds his new home)๐ถ
Another weekend, another opportunity to help a lucky dog find his way from a shelter to a new home.
Yesterday I helped a hound named Stanley on his Journey from Albuquerque, NM to Pasadena, CA. He was one of the fortunate ones as all too many end up being euthanized.
Such a sweet fellow
It's hard to imagine that this loving boy had been abandoned to an uncertain fate by his owners - unfortunately this as all too common here in the Southwest(and don't get me started on how poorly dogs are treated on the tribal lands ๐ก๐ก๐ก).
Anyhow, it was an early start so we could meet the driver coming from New Mexico
A bit of a walk and some introductory loving and we were off on the next leg of his journey.
As with most rescues I have done, it didn't take Stanley long at all to settle in for the ride. He probably realized he was on his way to a better place than the shelter.
๐๐๐Only a couple of hours with this wonderful and loving boy before it was time to say goodbye and wish him well.๐๐๐
๐All in all Stanley travelled over 700 miles through 3 states with 8 different drivers
Happy freedom ride Stanley my friend. May your future be long and bright and filled with love and good times.
I hope you all enjoyed this post

I thought that I would share some of my stories of my involvement with transporting/helping out rescue animals (mostly dogs). This is something that I have been doing for the past 7 years or so.
No pay or professionals - just a bunch of great volunteers working together to help the less fortunate animals.
๐Happy stories that I hope you all enjoy๐
Here are some rescue organizations that I have worked with and support. Please help out these great people and seek out some of the many other rescue organizations in your area- they always need our help.

Wow! another lovely dog. This is so beautiful. But I still wonder what makes these dogs to be abandoned?
I still commend you for the good work. That dog is so loving..
Thank you for sharing your post in fur-friends community.
Some people just don't care and treat their animals like objects to throw away when they're old or not needed anymore. A few are given up when the owner dies or is sick but that doesn't seem common. It's sad.
Hi @ultratrain,
I must commend you for all your effort as regards to taking care of abandoned and stray dogs.
Stanley is indeed lucky to have be found and taken care of by you.I sincerely hope that people can sit up and take good care of their pets instead of leaving the pets in the lurch.
Continue to post in @fur-friends community and in supporting abandoned let's.
