Rescue Diary - A little bit of Puppy Love (and a Momma too!!!)
Another day ending in the letter Y, another bunch of dogs abandoned to their fate on the Navajo Reservation lands.😟
Fortunately through the tireless dedication of the area rescue volunteers, these sweet little puppies - just a few days old - didn't end up dying of exposure or eaten by predators.
Instead the lucky little beauties made their way on a "short" trip from Shiprock, NM to Flagstaff, AZ to be cared for until old enough to be fostered or adopted.
I was one of the 2 drivers to handle the transport. Only a couple of hundred miles for my leg and the chance to enjoy the soft loving of the wee little ones
It's truly heartbreaking and frustrating to see how poorly these animals are treated on the tribal lands. They are referred to as Rez Dogs and there seems to be an endless supply of these poor creatures.
Some are abused, shot, tortured or otherwise suffering horribly, or if lucky, simply neglected or ignored. Some (but not enough) are lucky to find homes outside of the reservation where they can be loved and cared for.
I sincerely hope these babies never have to suffer again and find their wonderful forever homes quickly. They truly are little miracles🌈
Like the television ads of old used to scream - But wait, there's more!!!
Not only were there puppies but also a VERY pregnant momma dog.
She was ready to deliver at any time and everyone was relieved that she didn't go into labor on the trip (didn't want to have to birth puppies in my car!!!)
Such a gentle soul. She obviously knew she was in caring hands now.
A rewarding way to spend my Saturday but unfortunately it was a very, very small bit to help those in need - we can't save them all but each one saved is worth the effort.
🙏They're all my little angels🙏

I thought that I would share some of my stories of my involvement with transporting/helping out rescue animals (mostly dogs). This is something that I have been doing for the past 7 years or so.
No pay or professionals - just a bunch of great volunteers working together to help the less fortunate animals.
💖Happy stories that I hope you all enjoy💖
Here are some rescue organizations that I have worked with and support. Please help out these great people and seek out some of the many other rescue organizations - they always need our help.

I love these puppies, they are cute!.
Were they also abandoned? Thank you for saving an abandoned dog, you have shown love and care to the poor dog. Now she has a family, keep up the good work.
We appreciate your post in fur-friends community.
Yes unfortunately they were abandoned on the Navajo reservation which is all too common. Many aren't this lucky however.
