Why do cats hate water?🤔🤔

I want to throw a rhethorical question right now:
HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHY CATS HATE WATER?
I am not really a cat fan, but I for one have wondered why those animals hate water🤔
The Felis catus also known as domestic cats are generally known for their aversions to water. However, this is only applicable to just domestic cats because other wild felines like tigers commonly take a dip to cool off or hunt prey and even some species enjoy swimming.

Generally, domestic cats can do just about anything to avoid getting wet and some psychologists have come up with some theories that explains why.
Some say it is because the species evolved in dry climates and had little exposure to water except for drinking. It is an element they are unfamiliar with and thus avoid.
It is most likely howeveer, that cats avoid water because of what it does to their fur. Cats posses a rather oily fur coat which does not shed water easily.
Cats are dainty animals that take ample amount of their day grooming themselves. Wet fur is extremely uncomfortable for them and always takes a long time to dry. Wet fur makes them nimble and sluggish, hence, vulnurable to predators.

That notwithstanding, many cats enjoy playing with running or dripping water. Psychologists believe that cats are attracted by the movement of water and the sound it makes, all of which can stimulates its predator senses. Such an act is acceptable by all kinds of cats because only their paws gets wet.
However, the Turkish Van cat (also known as the swimming cat) is a domestic cat that is less fearful of water and enjoy occassional swims. This is because the texture of their fur makes them more water resistant than other breeds.
