The diary of Hazel and Lola|| Hurray!!! I have built a new cage for them with 2 compactments, the carpenter will join steemit tomorrow by @ngoenyi
Healthwise
They have no problem at all Healthwise. The reason is because,I have decided to stick to a particular feeding method, that of feeding them with starter feed that is usually given to birds at the early stage. They enjoy it a lot.
The only time I noticed change in their excitement, which was an indication of being unwell was when I tried giving them carrots and leave again. But the pet doctor, @ohia576 adviced against adding any other food because the feed already has all that their body requires. So I have stuck to the feed and fresh water which they have no problem eating. They have almost exhausted the half bag of feed I bought for them at 6.75 steem. I am planning to buy another half bag for them. They can eat for africa.
They are enjoying their feed
Their water cup is being refilled
You can see the kids feeding them close to the cage
From the last picture above, if you look closely, you will notice that their cage is no longer in order. Their weight have torn the net under the cage apart.
THEIR NEW CAGE
The pets, Hazel and Lola are increasingly growing in size and weight. The old cage no longer contain them neither was it conducive anymore for them. With their weight and size, they had torn the net that was used to cover the down part of the cage which enables their excitement to drop down apart. Most times they even go out through the whole they had bore on the net.
Just last night, Lola was found outside. The kids saw that she was lying outside but close the the backyard protector. They managed to bring her in and was wondering how she managed to go out. Surprised, they came to me and told me, I gassed that it must be from the hole since we used padlock to lock the cage and Hazel was still inside.
It then became very urgent and necessary that a new cage be constructed. The Vet doctor had earlier adviced that I construct a cage with two compactments. One compactments will be where Lola can stay and nurse her babies if she puts to bed while the other one will be for both of them. So today, the carpenter came around, destroyed the old one and built a new one that took into consideration all the factors that necessitated the new cage.
On the whole, I spent 17.5 steem at 400 NGN per steem to construct this cage
Hazel and Lola Inside the Room during the construction of their cage
It was necessary that Hazel and Lola be taken inside the kids room to enable the cage to be constructed. So I took them in and guess what they did to the carpet inside the room they were taken to? Hmm, they ate part of the carpet despite the food I kept for them
Take a look at what they did to a new carpet I just bought. Hmm.
See them looking innocent as if they did nothing.
Well, a rabbit is a rabbit. I only prayed for the carpenter to finish quick and let them be taken inside their new cage. Thank goodness that the carpenter was able to complete everything and they were taken in. They were very excited at the comfort they now have in their new cage. I am also relieved that they will not run out and be killed outside.
I was asked by the carpenter why I choose to keep pets. I explained that there is an online social media platform where there is a community for pet lovers. That was what prompted me to get pets for myself to enable me post original contents in that community. The good thing is that I get rewarded as I post. He became very interested and wanted to learn more. I then engaged him in a discussion about steemit nd at the end, he was eager to join but because he was already late for other engagements, he couldn't join today. But he told me that as soon as he comes tomorrow to fix other things for us, he will first of all sign up before he starts working. Wow!!! I was so excited. I can't wait to sign him up.
Thank you all for visiting my page and I promise to always bring you original contents about pets.
