Local Beliefs About 3 Pets/Animals In Akure, Ondo State. Nigeria. (100% Powered Up)

in Fur-friends4 years ago

To first understand what I'm going to talk about it is necessary to start from defining what an animal is and what makes an animal a pet.
An animal is 👇

a living organism that feeds on organic matter, typically having specialized sense organs and nervous system and able to respond rapidly to stimuli.

And we have the definition of a pet as 👇

a domestic or tamed animal kept for companionship or pleasure.

When it comes to pet, there is no pets not allowed in my state, so far you have the ability to tame it in respect to the definition given above. People have lions as pets these days so there is no limit to what animal you can have in the Yoruba tradition too. So far you can tame and maintain.

I'm from Ondo State and I live in the capital city, Akure. According to history the paramount ruler of this city was once said to have Elephant 🐘 as pets and he kept many of them them and also has a street named after them. But despite no restriction to having an animal has pets, some have comes to proven otherwise due to the animal aura and ability to be used for some evil deed.

I will like you to know that as humans have spirit, so are animals too, the same way you have a strong spirit is the same way you have someone whose sprit isn't strong. The same goes for animals too. This factor has helped some people in selecting the animals they'll keep as pets, thereby aiding there spiritual energy. When it is later discovered by everyone that a particular animal helps them to shift shapes in the other realm such animal gets a bad name.

I'll be listing those animals in no particular other.

1. Cats 😸

Even in Hollywood movies, this animal symbolizes evil, the Nigerian version hasn't been palatable in anyway, thanks to Nollywood movies from the Southwest which made it the second in command to the devil. The many witches and wizard movies shunned out by the Nollywood movies helped to give Cats an unpaid advertisement in a bad way. Every witch has a cat. Every cat in a movie is a symbol that something evil is about to happen.

In real life, the cats 😸 wasn't as bad as they seems, though this animal can sleep all year round, it's aggression against rats 🐁🐀 in the house is second to none. Cats are actually innocent, they are animals that has the ability to perceive things before they come, thereby giving occultic people to use it for many act which gave it his evil name. The local belief here is that cats are evil and they easily harbour evil into a house. Especially black cats😸.

This has caused the decline in owning a cat all across the south west.

2. Owl 🦉

Do I really need to explain this one, it's the flying bird for those who are occultic. It is believed that an owl 🦉 delivers evil message or death message. The cry of an owl is not pleasing to the ears, so is the cry much worse in the night. You can't hear an owl 🦉 in the night and be happy.

The believe about owl is that it delivers evil and bad messages, so anyone who is planning to own one has to be ..... You know 🧹🧙🧙. Or be an evil planner. I've never seen anyone own an owl 🦉 of recent. This goes to prove the point.

3. Duck 🦆

When I was young, it's common to see this animal around the elderly, I mean the grandma type, it was a general believe then that this animal is used in an occultic way to gather every good thing that might wants to happen around that place to people and give it to the owner. It is not a coincidence that you can't see this animal being reared by any young person the same way you have dogs 🐕🐶 and mouse 🐁 for children.

The duck 🦆 is also an animal very dirty and has many rules and regulations with abominations surrounding it. It's heads and legs shouldn't or can't be eaten, so are some other internal part of it. If you mistakenly killed it, you have to pay for some sacrifice to be done to appease the spirit of the duck and beg him/her/it that it's not on purpose. Or else.....😠👺👹😈☠️ Prepare to meet your Creator

I can go on and one on many more animal but the rules said just 3, here I am with my list of three Local beliefs about 3 pets/animals in Ondo State, Akure to be precise.

Poetically beautifully written. Good job @botefarm.👍

All these animals have really remarkable images in the minds of people @botefarm. They are all regarded as mistical animals. An animal like an owl is so dreaded by everyone and creates fear once you hear it . I hate it with passion.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about these animals
