My Scout Story. Steemit Participation Challenge, Week 1 by @tmighty.
Kunta village of Abamata Kingdom was known to produce strong and united young men who stayed as the security for the village and helped the village in times of war and also stood for the kingdom when there is a need to defend the kingdom. It was passed on from generations to the present one. The young boys of Kunta get their special training from childhood until they grow to a youthful age to join the youth who defend the village and kingdom.
Every young child of Kunta admired the strength and courage of the village Youth and wished to join when they come of age. Almost every family had at least a youth among the group which stood as the pillar of the village. The strongest of these youths headed by Ubak, the chief guard were taken to serve as the guards for the village head and the king of the kingdom and were rewarded awesomely for their work and the others are given a token as stipend.
Everyone admired their braveness. Young ladies who wished to date or marry preferred someone amongst them because of the physical structure of their bodies and the refuge they can offer in bad moments.
Saturdays of every week was the day they set aside for intense trainings and, strengthen their bond of love, brotherhood and unity. They often done this chanting war songs and doing high energy demanding physical activities for strength and power
On the early hours of Saturday when they were had their training, one of the messengers from the palace of the king visited them to deliver a message. Normally they do not see anyone during their training hours but because the messenger was sent from the palace, he was given a full attention by the chief guard.
He broke the news that the Princess, the only daughter of the King who went with her maid to hike in the nearby forest just behind the palace was no where to be found and that the king summoned for the chief guard.
The chief guard left hurriedly to the kind and upon his return, he told the rest of them that they have been given an assignment to find the Princess who was missing.
Ubak the chief guard told them to complete the training so as to be fit for the assignment they were called to do. Excluding himself, he selected and fortified 15 of them randomly which were to go for the assignment. He told Baka who was more skilled and powerful to lead the group. They reported to the King before they set out in search of the his only daughter. The rest stayed back to defend the kingdom incase of any unforeseen occurrence.
Because they have been village warriors, they knew the nuke and cranny of the forest, so they searched everywhere but could not find the Princess. The day was already turning night with no traces of the Princess. They knew they wouldn't return to the village or the King without a good story to tell. So they made up their minds to pass the night in the forest.

Baka told some of them to go and get firewoods and some fruits from the forest farm which grew from nature, so they would set fire, eat and camp until the next morning. They got the firewoods and they set campfire, ate and counted themselves to be sure they were complete before they all laid down to sleep. They were complete after the count so everyone went to sleep.
In the morning, to their dismay three of them were missing. There was no trace of where they went, who took or killed them. They had more work to do. They were determined to get to the bottom of the situation. But they had clue that they kidnappers were not too far from them. They began the search for the missing princess, their members and the hunt for the kidnappers to bring them to book. They began the search, shared themselves to a group made of 3 members.
It was evening of the second day but still no traces of the missing four nor their kidnappers. They camped again on the same place as they did the previous night. They had a meeting where they planned and re-strategized for the next day. It was past 11,when they finished and laid their heads. Because they were tired, they slept like babies.
Before long, it was dawn but another three got missing. When they woke up and discovered, they were demoralized but they were not taugjt to give up in the face of battle. At 6:30am, they gathered to sing war songs and did soft training before they set out at 7am.
This time, the population of people they were searching for had increased to 7. They believed unless they see the dead body of their members, they are not dead, so it was for the Princess. They searched and searched but all to no avail. They were weary and tired, not knowing what to do because they've searched everywhere.
That was how they got missing in threes until only three were left. The rest didn't give up still. But in the 3rd night, they decided to stay awake all through. None of them got missing that night. They thought of what to do but nothing special came to their mind. They searched together all through the 4th day but no one was found.
In the night of the 4th day, they were all tired, no one cheats nature, so they slept after their usual camp fires in their camp. This time they slept like drunken people.
In the next morning, being the 5th day of their search, Baka was the only one left. At this point he was exhausted, confused and didn't know what to do. He wanted to be the hero but he was afraid that he could end up in the court of the kidnappers. Nevertheless, his braveness went before him. He wanted the heroic song of the village to be sang for him, so he did extra work, and searched all day fully armed but he could only kill an antelope which served as his dinner.
His soul spirit and body was tired, so after devouring a quarter of a full antelope, he slept.
He woke up the next day to see himself among his brethrens and the princess sited in royal chair in her beautiful royal dress. They all clapped for him after which they burst into laughter. He was shocked that he wasn't in the camp neither was he in the midst of the forest but before he could alter a word, Ubak walked in. At this point, the Princess left their midst smiling.
He commended their effort, braveness and their unity. Then he told them that though it was a prank he connived with the king to play it on them, he wanted them to learn few lessons in the face of important assignments like that while he also tested their braveness, unity and determination in the part they have chosen.
He stated...
- You don't eat to full in the face of an important assignment.
- You don't all sleep at the same time in face of an important assignment. Rotate your sleep and let some be on guard.
- No matter how strong your determination and level of unity, you do not wait until you all are taken in the face of a mysterious assignment. If it he possible, at least, three persons should journey home to tell the story.
We have always been victorious in battle because the battles we fought were most times physical. In my absence, none of you could have thought outside the box and did the needful. Nevertheless, I commend your unity and braveness. You stood by each other and you didn't give up. The King has a awesome reward for you all for all the qualities of a warrior you've all shown he said
Their rewards were distributed to them one after the other. After their promotion from their present positions was declared. They all left to their homes happily.
The story is a powerful one and I hope everyone learnt something from it.
Standing united family or any group we find ourselves is the key to doing exploits together. It helps to build courage and how to stay determined in everyone. It also breads love amongst brotherhood. For brotherhood to surface, a group must first stand in unity.
On this note I end my story and invite my friends @talktofaith, @olabillions and @msquaretwins to participate in this contest.

I love the courage of Baka to continue the journey of finding his people and people like them are very rare to find this days.
I have learnt a great lesson through your article, that UNITY, PERSEVERANCE and LOVE is the number one in life especially in group. It was planned but we can learn from this please.

@tmighty, a very deep narrative where it is shown that the value and commitment of a person can keep us united to meet the proposed goals.
Baka undoubtedly fulfilled his role as leader in that adventure. That came to a happy end thanks to his courage and training.
I say goodbye wishing you have a great day

Wow! a story full of lesson. The warriors were never tired. They held brotherhood in high esteem as they kept seeking for the solution on how to deal with kidnappers and other missing members. Despite all, we live in a world full of wickedness. We need to stay awake and stand firm
Yes @beautiefair, the days are evil and wickedness had cover the land. Let's be sober and be vigilant so we don't become victims of the wickedness of the world.
Wow... You have given a detailed and we'll presented article on your scout story. Indeed a united family and community can achieve anything.
Thank you for sharing this with us.
Kind regards!
Yeah! United we stand, divided we fall.
Thanks for reading and commenting.
I like the story of Kunta village of Abamata Kingdom very much and it seems very real. Because if training is available in this way, but they will be much more aware. Another thing I liked a lot was that every child appreciated the strength and courage of the village youth and wanted to join the children when they grow up. An excellent story shared with us.
Thank you for reading through and commenting. I hope to read yours as well.
Hi @tmighty,
Interesting scout story.I read it through till the end because the story was epic.Baka tried his best continue to fight till the end.A few things I learnt here is that:
•Strength and force without wisdom will amount to nothing.
•Determination without strategy is not productive.
Thank you @samuel20.
Thank God you learnt something.
Thanks for reading my post as well.
