Have you ever heard about ponzi schemes?

Yes, I'm totally familiar with the term Ponzi Scheme. It is actually a very common term used in the financial world. We can consider Ponzi Scheme as a type of scam in which the old users are paid from the funds that are gathered from the new users. The old users are promised to get high returns on there investment and their team.

But after all the profit is not the actual one, it is the one which is paid from the funds that are invested by the downliners. The users are asked to refer more and more friends and ask them to invest in the scheme. There are so many cases in the history where the Ponzi Schemes has causes so many difficulties for the investors.

As you all know that it is the era of the digital and advanced technology. The Ponzi Schemes are also very much common in the cryptocurrency world. The main motto of the developers of such schemes is to make good user base and get good funds from the investment of the users and at the end they shut off the platform and went off.

Have you been offered to invest in any of these schemes?

Yes, there are so many schemes that I have to see on daily basis. As I am linked to the cryptocurrency world from past few years so my interaction with the Ponzi Schemes is also very common. I still remember a Ponzi Scheme in which I and our friend @malikusman1 was also trapped, haha. It was actually the time back to one year.

A new website was developed with the name of a popular company Danbury. They ask people to invest and buy some kinda subscription plans in order to receive huge profits on basis of the investments. Malik received a referral link from his friend and he also joined the website and subscribed a packages of worth almost 70$.

Well, Malik invited me to join the website as well (as we are financial advisors of each other, haha). I also joined the scheme and invested the dollars. I also got some of my dollars back and I also made some more referrals to speed up my withdrawal process. But, after 2 days, the website was off and we realized that we have been scammed, unfortunately. It was the first and the last time ever when I invested in such a scheme and now I can easily filter out the Ponzi Schemes.

Do you know how to detect Ponzi schemes?

Yes, I know very well how to detect a Ponzi Scheme. There are so many things that can help us to filter out the Ponzi Schemes and some important ones are discussed below.

  • Unusually high returns on your little investmens, particularly if guaranteed.

  • Pressure to invest quickly without sufficient time for investigation or so.

  • A lack of transparency or clarity regarding the investment, such as ambiguous or confusing explanations.

  • Unregistered, unlicensed merchants or investment offers.

  • Difficulty recovering your money or withdrawing your funds from the company or Scheme.

  • There is no clearly defined investment strategy or company plan.

  • They ask to invite more friends and ask them to invest in order to get a permanent job, etc.

These are the most important tips that are commonly helpful for us to filter out or detect a Ponzi Scheme.

Do you think Steemit is a ponzi scheme?

Absolutely not, Steemit is not a Ponzi Scheme platform. It is actually a blockchain based social media platform which rewards it's active and engaging users on the basis of their activities in the form of posting, commenting, upvoting, etc. There is no condition or thing which can make Steemit a Ponzi Scheme platform.

The first and the most important condition that make a platform suspicious is to ask the users invest their money, but there is no such condition on the Steemit platform. Users are not forced to invest their money. Secondly, users are also not forced to invite their friends in order to get some sort of bonuses or something like that, so it is also a thing that neglect the concept of Pozni Scheme for Steemit.

Moreover, as I have already said that Steemit is a blockchain platform and there is a proper roadmap and planning behind the future of the platform. There is proper team to manage all the aspects of the platform, all the rewarding system is automated which is actually based on the Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) mechanism. So, in short it is completely right to say that 'STEEMIT IS NOT A PONZI SCHEME'.

I would like to invite my friends @kouba01, @sahar78, @khursheedanwar, @waqarahmadshah, @aaliarubab, @artist1111 and @sahmie to be a part of this amazing contest.

I have to say, I'm impressed by your knowledge and experience on the topic. As for ponzi schemes, I've fallen for one or two of those tactics myself in the past, so I know how tempting yet deceptive they can be. Good luck in the contest! 😊

Thank you for beautiful words, dear brother. No doubt, we learn from such incidents 🙂

Saludos @steemdoctor1.

Thanks for the kind reviews dear friend

Hi our only doctor, it's good reading your entry I see in investing you money in any platform you are very careful because right now there are so many fake once around and if we are not carful we fall a victim and which is very bad. Wish you success boss

Thanks for the comment dear friend.

Ponzi Schemes are a type of fraudulent investment scam where older investors are paid returns with the money from new investors rather than from actual profits. This unsustainable model eventually collapses, leaving many investors with losses. It is important to be cautious of any investment opportunity promising high returns with little risk, as it could be a Ponzi Scheme.

Thanks a lot for your beautiful comment dear friend

You have said well that we should beware of such schemes and don't believe on the parties that are guaranteeing very high returns

¡Saludos amigo, mucha suerte!

Saludos amigos

Hahahahahah, you have said right. If there are such advisors then there is no need of enemies, hahaha 🤣. Thanks for the comment
