INTRODUCTION

Homeless people are usually people who do not have homes of their own to go back to, they usually sleep on the streets, under bridges, they beg to survive on a daily basis and they usually get drenched by the rain, get burnt by the scorching sun and all of that.

ARE THERE HOMELESS PEOPLE IN YOUR COUNTRY?.

Yes there are homeless people in my country. Also across all continents of the world, there are alot of needy and homeless people who live by begging and licking off the feet of the rich and powerful, these homeless people have no say in my country, they are regarded as nobodies. There are homeless people as well as rich and powerful people amongst us.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ARE THE CAUSES THAT LEAD THESE PEOPLE TO LIVE ON THE STREET, HOMELESS WITHOUT A FAMILY?

Poverty is one of the causes of being homeless in my country. Most people get thrown out of their apartments and made to live on the streets, under Bridges and other places that are not nice because they can't afford to pay their rent or to buy a house for themselves. Poverty is the most common reason why people are homeless. "Poverty" they say is a disease that only money can cure.

Another reason is abandonment. Abandoned children often become victims of the homeless life, oy a few get lucky and the rest are left on the streets. In most cases they are abandoned at birth and are left in the street because their parents mostly their mothers couldn't take care of them because of diverse reasons like family choices and money reasons.

Others are abandoned by their relatives because their parents are dead, some are sent to big cities to live with relatives and they end up living on Streets because of how they are being treated by those relatives, some of these children are turned to hawkers and most times asked not to return until they finish selling what they have, these kids run away because they can't bear the pain and suffering and they end up becoming homeless.

HAS THE GOVERNMENT TRIED TO CREATE DECENT SHELTERS TO HELP THIS PEOPLE?

Yes and No! The government have tried so far in making availabilities and making life better for homeless people by appointing the building of shelters and other structures where there kids and there parents are kept and taken care of. They are also groomed and educated to be better people. Some of them don't stay there forever they are given up for adoption to rich homes who could love and cater for them. While in some areas money allocated for the building of these homes or shelters are eaten by the same government and these children and homeless people are left to suffer on the streets.

WHAT COULD YOU PROPOSE SO THIS PEOPLE DON'T REMAIN IN THE DARK WORLD?

Enlightenment of the consequences of sending your child out to people you don't know so they won't suffer. Teaching young girls and boys to abstain from sex to prevent unwanted pregnancy which may lead to these children being dumped just so the mother could leave her life because she never wanted the child or children in the first place.
People who go to adopt children or carry children in the name of helping their parents to train then and ending up frustrating and tormenting their lives should be petitioned, fined and punished for such attitudes so that they would treat these children with the respect and love they deserve. People who send children out to beg or hawk should be punished as well because these children deserve to be in school and not made to be on the streets on daily basis to fetch them money.

CONCLUSION

Homeless people should be loved and taken care of, they are humans like us and they should be taken in and not be treated like outcasts. I invite @imadear, @uduak01 and @steemqueeen to participate in this engagement challenge.
