There is a saying, by mastering a foreign language, the world is in our hands. All languages are good and they must be learned to open up communication between each other. We are also led to be able to speak at least the mother tongue because it will be very important and used everyday. However, regional languages are also important for maintaining language culture which will fade over time. So language is important and we must speak good language because anyone will feel respected with good communication too.

How many languages do you speak? Which of them are your native languages and which ones have you studied?

Regarding language, I am not a linguist, but I can speak a little bit with my mother tongue or foreign language. Since I was little, I have been used to speaking Indonesian at home because I live in a complex and in the midst of migrating people, so Indonesian is my everyday language, whereas when I return to my village, I am required to speak Acehnese fluently because many of my relatives those who are still taboo with Indonesian, especially those who are elderly, they do not understand languages other than Acehnese.

The Acehnese language is a language rich in culture. They come from several languages such as Indian, Arabic, Chinese, and also English. Sometimes there is the same language, and the Acehnese language is a cultural heritage that I must preserve because it is also the most polite language.

Apart from these two languages, I also studied English and also Arabic. I learned these two languages when I started junior high school, when I studied at Modern Islamic College, which is our compulsory language. For me language is the door to the world, where all languages are good and especially if it is an international language, where all people from different worlds are united in the same sense, I hope I can still learn these international languages, and Steemit is one of those places.

What methods have you used to learn other languages?

In learning other languages, my school has methods that allow us to communicate fluently in English and Arabic. Grade 1 Middle School, Starting after the morning prayer, we will be given a complete vocabulary with sentences, then we will memorize according to what is given and it is mandatory to use it, if not we will be subject to more severe sanctions until the parents are summoned.

Also, since it's a compulsory language, we have to find and deposit another 2 words every day and write them down in a notebook, it has to be carried everywhere except to the bathroom. Even the exam questions use these two languages, except for Indonesian education subjects. I was fortunate that because of this routine and rigorous method, we could speak foreign languages even though we weren't very fluent. So, Memories, and listening will make perfect with practice it (we called Muhadasah/Conversation).

In addition to the ones you already speak, what other languages would you like to learn?

Other International Languages. This language is a bridge to be able to travel around the world. This is important because we won't get lost, won't be troubled or won't be surprised by what other people are talking about and we know when someone is calling us. 😂

Currently I want to learn Spanish, because this is the language that I get the most in steemit. Yes, my current world is steemit and I have to translate some of my friend's posts using a tool. This will definitely make a little difference because the language of the dictionary and everyday language are very different, or we will be closer when we know our friend's language well. There are lots of interesting posts to read and Spanish is the population language in steemit.

What do you consider to be the most difficult thing about learning another language?

That is the Grammar. Maybe we can memorize the vocabulary well, but to speak it will be more difficult because the language used in everyday life is often different from the language of the dictionary. I can judge it because standard Indonesian is very different from the language spoken in everyday life. That's why experts say that "practice makes perfect".

Why do you think it is important to master several languages?
